The Jedi High Council is the main interface between the Jedi and the government of the Republic. The twelve High Council members are chosen from the ranks of the Jedi Masters and represent a gathering of great minds who have proven themselves and their abilities in the service of peace and justice.

The Scene Packs sub-line from the third phase of the Star Wars “Saga” line turned out to be really impressive. Even if you’re not into the Prequel Trilogy, it’s hard to deny that sets like the Jedi High Council multipacks aren’t remotely interesting. With nearly 100% all-new tooling and great environmental pieces packed in with these all-new figures, it seems that $19.99 is almost a bargain when considering just how much newness you’re getting here. The Jedi High Council (Featuring Yarael Poof, Depa Billaba & Yaddle) (2 of 2) may be even better than the Jedi High Council (Featuring Mace Windu, Oppo Rancisis & Even Piell) (1 of 2) because we get three never before offered characters instead of the two never before offered in the latter. All three Jedi are well-sculpted, and as you probably have already realized, this three-pack is based on characters from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and not Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Not all of the figures are loaded with articulation, but overall they come with the articulation that they need to shine gloriously in your Star Wars collection. Some long awaited characters have been included in this Scene Packs set, so let’s look at all of them in some more detail to see exactly why they shine as brightly as they do.

Yarael Poof is easily our most favorite new figure of the lot. We will tell you right away that he hasn’t been designed all that well to stand up straightly, but he fills out his accompanying chair quite nicely. He is tall and slender and is the true definition of what a Star Wars alien should look like. The pea-sized head on top of a long-stemmed neck gives him that ideal otherworldly appearance and his large and foreboding hands accentuate the rest of him to the point where it makes it difficult to view as another humanoid form, of which he rightfully is. Yarael Poof even comes with soft-goods which allows him to interact with the chair effortlessly. His design, like so many of the other figures in this line, is excellent. The sculpt couldn’t be bettered, the paint job could perhaps use a little tweaking, and the combination of molded parts and soft-goods is really a fine example of Hasbro’s capability. We would love to see most of this figure’s sculpt updated to include premium ball-jointed articulation. Yarael Poof has so much prospect and promise that he is great right now, but could be a collector’s dream in the future. But right now he is just too wonky to be a standalone action figure. More importantly, that doesn’t matter for this set. All you need him to do is just sit there. It's so sad he was killed off in off-screen moments in the Star Wars timeline. He could have been a cool warrior at the Battle of Geonosis!

Depa Billaba may just be another random Jedi on the Jedi High Council, but Hasbro has done another admirable sculpt on her. With her quasi Princess Leia Organa styled hairdo and the pretty ornaments on her face, she possesses a look that fits somewhere in between the multiple female Jedi that fought during the Battle of Geonosis: from Sarrissa Jeng to Barriss Offee. She is the figure in this set that comes without a chair, but that’s alright. While we do witness her seated in the Jedi High Council, she had a much more prominent role in The Phantom Menace at the celebration during the final scenes of the film. She doesn’t come with ay fancy articulation, but she does look pretty darn fantastic as is. She really looks like the actress who played her in the film very much. The only figure that might interest collectors more than Yarael Poof however is the inclusion of Yaddle, the female Yoda. The very mere inclusion of her in the film has opened up multiple cans of worms. Yet, we still don’t know anything more about Yoda’s species and home planet. She too has a stunning sculpt, but comes with simple articulation. The paint job she received is topnotch and we couldn’t be more pleased. As you can see, these are some great multipacks. It’s a tossup which set is better, so be sure to get both of them. Just to reiterate, we love single-carded figures the best, but this is certainly an admirable way to release multipacks.
