The waitress droid WA-7 works at Dexter's Diner, a steadfast source of down-home cooking and, on occasion, valuable information. Situated in an industrial pocket of Coruscant, the unassuming eatery is a favorite with the locals because of its hearty food and Dex's distinctive special recipes. With WA-7's frisky spirit and built-in order transmitter, the single-wheeled waitress droid serves up the day's specials to the varied assortment of freighter drivers and dockworkers who frequent the establishment.
There are some action figures that Hasbro creates that deserve merit simply by the way they’ve been approached. Think of the many characters that have been added to Episode I and Episode II thanks to CGI. These characters do not exist in three-dimensional form, yet will eventually have to thanks to their inclusion in the Hasbro basic figure line. Like lightsabers, some characters can’t naturally exist on planet Earth like the way they appear in a Star Wars film. WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) is a perfect example of this. But yet Hasbro "defeated the laws of nature" and made it work flawlessly thanks to a "smart" environmental display stand. Running around like the droid equivalent of a unicycle, WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) has been tooled so that her wheel well secures itself tightly to a lip on the environmental display stand and will remain upright for any display. It’s an illusion that works brilliantly and the same effect is equally captured in the action figure just as it successfully did in Attack Of The Clones. She is easily on of the nicest figures in the entire Star Wars “Saga” line and your collection will e lacking if you had decided to skip over this one. We’ll explain why you need WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) in your collection.
WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner), she is also known as FLO, is a gorgeous sculpt. Hasbro was generous with her articulation too. Not only does she have a nicely moving ball-socket head, she has been graced with a hinge-jointed neck also for optimal head movement. A cord attached to the upper middle of her back which definitely inhibits some of her head movement, but thanks to the double articulation in the head portion, WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) really shines. Hasbro continued being generous by adding two ball-jointed shoulders. Her midsection is also double-jointed. The upper torso contains a ball-socket joint and her waist has swivel articulation added. Because she is just cone-shaped below her waist, the only other articulation she has is the rolling wheel. It spins freely and comes off and on the figure with relative ease. Besides the environmental display stand, WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) comes with a very neat serving tray which contains two drinks (each a different color) and plugs into a discrete post on her hand so it can be secured to her hand without issue. When fully situated, WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) looks absolutely amazing. Hasbro really couldn’t have done a better job on her.
WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) has an absolutely phenomenal paint job. You’ll need to inspect each section of her one by one just so you can properly process how many paint operations went into this action figure. She has a beautiful base gold color, but she has been accented with maroon and lots of orange/pink framing lines to give her appearance depth and shape while showing the collector that she clearly works very hard in Dexter’s Diner. If you look beyond the outside paint operations, you’ll find wear and tear as well as other imperfections that give her the perfect lived-in appearance. Hands down WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) has one of the nicest paint jobs in the entire basic figure line. Obviously if you remove this action figure from the display stand, you’re not going to get much functionality out of it, but WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) is a success thanks to the sum of her parts.... and it’s a success that we believe Hasbro will have difficulty replicating or bettering down the road. Bottom line: WA-7 (Dexter’s Diner) is a must-have action figure. Do whatever it takes to secure one. We can assure you that there will be no regrets.
