Sly Moore is the staff aide for Chancellor Palpatine and is never far from his side. She has a piercing gaze and can only be seen in the ultraviolet spectrum. Her species, the Umbarans, are rumored to be able to influence and even control the minds of others. It is believed that she is very close to Palpatine and knows his deepest secrets.

Is there a more eerie Star Wars character than Sly Moore. Not only does she have the perfect name for the type of role she had in Episode II (and subsequently Episode III), she resembles the Sith Apprentice Asajj Ventress, although they are two distinct species. (Asajj Ventress is a Dathomorian while Sly Moore is an Umbaran.) What’s interesting however about both species is that they’re both Force-sensitive, which makes for interesting backstories in the Expanded Universe. It’s just a shame we didn’t see more of her in Episode II because the tales from the Expanded Universe are extremely interesting. In short, Sly Moore is Chancellor Palpatine’s aide and it’s believed that she is clued in on more secrets of his behind the scenes workings than he even told her. She is very perceptive and very loyal which made her the perfect candidate for Darth Sidious to reveal his master plan. She said little to nothing in Attack Of The Clones, which explains her intense mystery quite well, but her appearance was enough to drive the point home that she is someone that you wouldn’t really want to get to know and perhaps someone you’d want to avoid at all costs.

Sly Moore as an action figure doesn’t really “pass” or “fail” because judging her isn't really that simple. She's more statuesque, but we probably wouldn't want her any other way. Yet, an articulation junkie wouldn't find this acceptable. A great head sculpt and a rather good body mold is deteriorated by the lack of her articulation obviously. Her body is essentially immobile and sadly borrows the technology of the earliest Star Wars “Saga” figures from 2002. But it has a nice shape and silhouette and provides an excellent foundation for the shadowcloak accessory to wrap around it. You’ll definitely want her displayed with this on her because it really is essential to make her look the best displayed in your collection. In an interesting move, Hasbro included ball-socket elbows for Sly Moore. They absolutely provide a wider range of motion than swivel joints would, but the way they’ve been designed is a bit wonky and we don’t think it’s an ideal situation. She also comes with a blaster but there is no place to store it and since she didn’t wield one in the film, we find it a rather unnecessary addition in our own estimation. We would to have loved to see enhanced articulation or soft-goods instead.

The paint job on Sly Moore is excellent. The paint job reflects the “soulless” affect she presents in public. And it expresses why she has the demeanor she does in the film. For example, she actually tried to get into the Jedi Order, but was kidnapped and tortured by Darth Maul before she had the chance. But it was then Darth Sidious who rescued her and nursed her back to health and developed an intense bond with her. You can see why she is a woman of very few words. But the paint job reflects this brutal past she lived. Her eyes are painted very intensely and bizarrely. It is said that she could only see things in the ultraviolet light spectrum and Hasbro did a great job with the paint job for her eyes. You’ll notice that they are different than pretty much any other action figure and it serves as an explanation to her ultraviolet-only handicap. So we find that particularly interesting. Sly Moore (Coruscant Senate) is not an action figure in the true sense. It’s statuesque and will really only serve as diorama fodder in an Senate display in your collection. Oh, and if you’re a “one of everything” collector, than this one is for you too.
