No name strikes more fear into the heart of a galactic fugitive than that of Boba Fett. The famed bounty hunter's cool, helmeted visage is known to the denizens of countless worlds, though few have ever encountered the mysterious warrior, and fewer still would have any clue to his true identity or face.

The product of Kaminoan cloning, Boba Fett was the unaltered clone and son of Jango Fett, a Mandalorian hunter no less deadly in his day than his progeny. Trained in the techniques of his people and gifted with his father's cunning, young Boba follows in Jango's footsteps after the bounty hunter's untimely death on Geonosis. Boba Fett's trademarks are his instantly recognizable Mandalorian battle armor, his scorched jetpack and battered old Firespray interceptor Slave I, inherited from his father. All the bounty hunter's tools are custom fitted with modifications and improvements that grant him the edge in tracking and tackling his marks.

Through a military-style dedication to his art, native predatory instincts and an innovative battery of hidden surprises, Boba Fett has carved a reputation as the man who gets the job done. By the time he is recruited by Lord Vader to hunt down the Millenium Falcon during the Galactic Civil War, Fett has already become a feared and respected warrior, standing as an equal among the elite of his profession and the preferred contractor of Outer Rim crime lord, Jabba the Hutt. His successful tailing and capture of Han Solo allows him to collect double on the deal with both the Sith Lord and the Hutt, and also closes the books on a job that has occupied him for far too long.

It was only a matter of time before the most infamous bounty hunter in the entire Star Wars galaxy was made into a gorgeous Premium Format Figure by Sideshow Collectibles. Can you think of any other Star Wars character that has the draw, pull and creates such an intense captivating interest in Star Wars fans as this bounty hunter? If you think about it, it’s rather remarkable. Boba Fett had so few lines that you could count them using your fingers. Heck, the number of words he spoke probably wouldn’t exceed your toes either. But ever since he was introduced in 1978’s The Star Wars Holiday Special in that unforgettable animated short in which his true colors are shown in more ways than one (Chewbacca, did you NOT see those Wookiee scalps hanging from his shoulder?), Boba Fett has become and remained a Star Wars staple. And as a result, collectible forms of him are equally cherished and have the collectibles seeking out a bounty on him instead. Sideshow Collectibles steps up to the plate to deliver what may be hailed as one of the finest Boba Fett high-end collectibles of all time. Boba Fett is a timeless character. When filmmakers couldn’t rely on CGI, they characters they made had to rely on true and tangible art forms. This is exactly what we believe makes Boba Fett so embraced by Star Wars fans. Look at that amazing outfit. You know you’d want one for yourself if you could. The Boba Fett Premium Format Figure isn’t free of all issues, but he is pretty close to perfection in our book. Let’s see what makes him so special.

You know that we feel that Sideshow Collectibles has truly developed a borderline miraculous version of Boba Fett for one-quarter scale already. But this is because the Premium Format Figure line spares no expense and utilizes mixed media to make the most accurate figures possible on the market today. Granted, the Premium Format Figures line is made up of more “statues with soft-goods” than “figures” in our book, but the marriage of polystone, fiberglass, plastic and various materials work seamlessly together to craft the truly astonishing high-end collectibles in this line for Star Wars fans. Boba Fett however takes a slight detour. Instead of a solid polystone body, Sideshow Collectibles has opted for a plastic body instead. Whether this direction was taken for easier application of the clothing and armor parts, or just concern that the large figure would be too heavy were polystone used instead, we’re not sure. But it works and Sideshow has absolutely developed one of the nicest pieces in their catalogue with Boba Fett. Some collectors like his stance, others do not. We appreciate the “inaction” in his stance. He totally looks like he was freeze-framed out of Jabba’s palace as no artistic license was taken to put him in some crazy action pose or something similar. We appreciate this tremendously. We think that Premium Format Figures should be in upright, non-action poses. They just look better this way. We’re fond of his articulated rangefinder. This is a detail that Sideshow didn’t have to include but did and it makes us very happy. Lastly, Boba Fett also comes with a ball-socket head joint which is the perfect feature to keep this piece exciting in your collection for years to come.

Some collectors have commented that Boba Fett comes with an oversized helmet. We’re honestly on the fence about it. We do feel however that it’s close enough to the actual size that it shouldn’t really deter from its aesthetics all that much. As a whole, Boba Fett truly looks incredible. The costuming is right on the money. The soft-goods jumpsuit is matched with separately sculpted armor pieces. His belt is comprised of multiple individual patches that actual move along the belt line. More impressive however are the details in the armor. They are clean and sharp have incredibly decorated wear patterns that bring the pieces that standard “lived in” look that is so common with all things in the Star Wars universe. He his holding his blaster rifle at the ready and the detail in this gun is nothing short of amazing either. If you look carefully you’ll see a coating of subdued orange color to replicate the rust (or just general wear). It is quite intricately detailed. And one last neat feature about the Boba Fett Premium Format Figure that we absolutely adore is that Boba Fett can stand unassisted without the base. This isn’t too common for Premium Format Figures and it’s a detail that fans of Boba Fett are really digging. You can set Boba Fett in multiple backgrounds if you wish. For $324.99 you could either purchase the regular or exclusive edition. The exclusive accessory included is a Mandalorian wall plaque. It looks great, but it’s definitely an odd choice to include as the exclusive accessory, but that’s just our two cents. It can be hung on a wall somewhere within your collector’s room. We say that this piece is mandatory for you, but you’ll have to decide if he’s worth the money he’s commanding.
