The Star Wars battle rages on! The brave and noble Jedi Knights clash against powerful Separatists in this awesome battlepack. Who will win? The fate of the galaxy is in your hands!

Is Hasbro pulling the wool over our eyes or is this set really called Jedi Vs. Separatists? Where are the Separatists? We don’t see any. We see three Jedi, one Sith Lord and one freelance Bounty Hunter. Perhaps we're being way too nitpicky here. Well, no matter what this Battle Packs set is called, you’re not going to want it anyway. Full of a lot of garbage, would you believe that all of the figures included in this set are new to some extent or another, with three kit-bashed figures making them essentially all-new above and beyond simple repaints. The Jedi Vs. Separatists Battle Packs doesn’t really make much sense on multiple levels. Has Darth Maul been eliminated from this set, it would have been a fair representation of the Battle of Geonosis, but he is in this set and is shown in the package battling an Episode II specific version of Anakin Skywalker. Are you confused. Because we totally are. If you’re a one-of-everything collector, this set is a must have because of the three “exclusive” figures it contains. But we bet that you would never miss these figures if you decide to pass on it because they aren’t notable or memorable enough for collectors, but obviously you’ll have to determine that yourself.

Mace Windu is a kit-bashed figure that utilizes the body of 2002's SW Mace Windu (Geonosian Rescue) ('02 #28) figure with the head from 2002's SW Mace Windu Deluxe figure. That dopey open-mouthed expression is now gone and a much nicer portrait is in its place, but do you really need the floppy arms driving you insane. Plus, the lack of articulation is disheartening. Anakin Skywalker is what we would describe as a train wreck. He’s a kit-bashed figure that utilizes the body of 2002's SW Anakin Skywalker Deluxe figure along with a repainted head from 2002's SW Anakin Skywalker (Tatooine Attack) ('02 #43) figure. The arms on our sample popped off any chance they got and his features from his head to his toes are in utter disproportion. Obi-Wan Kenobi is a strange hybrid. He too is a kit-bashed figure that is comprised of the body from 2002's SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Starfighter Pilot) ('02 #36) figure and the head from 2003's SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) ('03 #39) figure. This was a few steps backwards because the body on the 2003 figure is significantly better than the 2002 figure. The awkwardly shaped chest with the thinnest swivel shoulders we’ve ever seen should never be used again. It’s almost sad. There are so many other better versions of these figure that will make you a much happier collector. Don’t get stuck on these figures.

Darth Maul is one of the better figures in the set, but as a figure that made its debut in the Power Of The Jedi line, some of the articulation is very poor. Still, we have to hand it to Hasbro that they really did a fantastic job back when this figure was originally tooled and it still is a passable specimen today. He comes with a lightsaber and interestingly is the only misfit in this Battle Packs set. Even though he hasn’t aged all that well, we are particularly found of the included Jango Fett figure. A repaint of 2002's SW Jango Fett (Final Battle) ('02 #31) figure, Hasbro has really given him an overtly different paint job. (We think this figure looks better than the original.) In a strange move and for reasons unknown, Hasbro has only packed one Westar-34 blaster pistol with him. He has a subtle built in action feature too. His head is magnetic and you can replicate the epic battle when Mace Windu beheads him on Geonosis. Jango Fett is right at home in other ways to this scene as he comes with a fireball projectile and his Merr-Sonn JT-12 jetpack (all scene-specific accessories during the Battle of Geonosis). So yes, we do like this one figure in the set, but it’s not like we don’t have multiple other opportunities to secure that figure. Other than that, the Jedi Vs. Separatists Battle Packs set is a total pass.
