Luminara Unduli is a trusted advisor to the Jedi Council and a formidable opponent with a lightsaber. An extraordinary Jedi warrior, Luminara leads a battallion of clone troopers through the dense jungles of Kashyyyk.

One of the biggest chronic problems in the Revenge Of The Sith line is the lack of outer robes (soft-goods or otherwise) for the Jedi characters. If you are wondering why so many look differently than they did in the film, it’s because they’re missing they’re outer later. This doesn’t mean that the figures are disappointing. No, that would be like throwing out the baby with the bath water. But the outer robes give that last dash of character to the action figure and strikes our memory more strongly that this is the way we saw them in the films. Another great update to the Revenge Of The Sith line is Luminara Unduli. Essentially a statue, 2002’s SW Luminara Unduli (Jedi Master) (’02 #26) figure left collectors with a lot to be desired. We don’t deny that thefighure had a dynamic pose, but you couldn’t do anything more with it as is than put it on a shelf somewhere. This figure instantly becomes obsolete because Hasbro has designed a new action figure of her with a nice amount of articulation and then added some very nice soft-goods to complete the figure. What she is missing however is her outer robes and we have to say it’s a little too glaring here to not comment about them missing.

Luminara Unduli is a very nice action figure. Her likeness is spot on although the paint job isn’t perfect and gives the great sculpt a little bit of a muddled appearance. The diamond tattoos on the character’s face are present on the figure, but you’ll need to probably go through about a half dozen of them until you find one with a perfectly even paint job. Usually the patterns are sloppy or off center. And if you have a drop of OCD in your blood, it’s going to go into an uncontrollable rage here. Luminara Unduli has piercing blue eyes and we think that Hasbro didn’t get them perfectly right here. They appear to dark and it takes away a little bit from the authenticity of the figure. She has a very beautiful and ornate pattern on her forearms and lower legs. And it’s this same pattern that adorns her decorative belt that flows down the front of her skirt. Oh, and that skirt? It’s one of the greatest uses of soft-goods we have probably ever seen. The texture is amazing and it keeps itself. The best part is that it doesn’t have any sheen or glossiness. It’s dull and has a natural crepe or pleated look to it. We’re very impressed with the soft goods here.

Luminara Unduli can be forcefully taken apart at which point you can remove her soft-goods skirt, but this isn’t the intention of the figure. As far as her true accessories, Luminara Unduli comes with both a lightsaber hilt and lightsaber blade. And because she is a Collection 2 figure, you also get an environmental stand which is passable enough for us to look like some of Kashyyyk’s terrain, although we feel more comfortable referring to it as Felucia’s terrain. But because Luminara Unduli was stationed on Kashyyyk, Kashyyyk it is. If you look at the attached still in this review, you’ll quickly notice that Luminara’s outfit in the film is quite different from the final appearance of the action figure. That’s because she is missing her outer robes we mentioned earlier in the review. It makes a big difference, doesn’t it? Hopefully one day we will get our definitive Luminara Unduli action figure. We need one that comes with tons of ball-jointed articulation and an incredible likeness. And let’s not forget about those important outer robes either. We think this version of Luminara Unduli hold up for now, but she definitely is in need of some help. Hopefully Hasbro will give it to her soon.
