Posted by Mike | February 22, 2005 at 01:00 PM ET |

Making yet another update tonight to our 2005 Toy Fair Coverage, we have added Gentle Giant to the list. Gentle Giant did not allow pictures to be taken, but, they did supply us with a CD-Rom with some pictures. I decided to do the commentary with the pictures all at once, thus the reason it has taken a little longer for us to get Gentle Giant images up.
Gentle Giant has quite a bit on tap this year, I am sure there will be more coming as well, especially seeing this is a movie year. Many Thanks to the folks at Gentle Giant for having us! Also many thanks for the free Boba Fett Bust-Up they gave out, you can check that out in the our coverage! Click on the image below to take a look!

ROTS Cheez-It's!

Posted by Mike | February 21, 2005 at 12:55 PM ET |

As I was at my local grocery market today, I found an interesting Episode 3 product tie in. Cheez-it's now have a "Limited Edition" Episode 3 Packaging on them. On the front is a picture of R2-D2, and on the back is a collage of E3 characters, as well as a short description for the final Star Wars movie. Beware, the description might be spoilerish to some!
Also of note is that on the side panel is an offer for an E3 poster. The poster is of a close-up of the Vader mask, with the Anakin vs. Obi Wan duel being reflected in one of the eyes. It is $2.99 with 2 UPCs and the order form which is located inside the box. Click on the images below to check it out. Beware, the one marked spoiler is the one with the readable text, so some may want to avoid it:

Hasbro Star Wars Press Kit

Posted by Mike | February 20, 2005 at 12:46 PM ET |

Well, one of the perks of trekking to NYC for Toy Fair, and the long hours of covering and posting the coverage for the events is the SWAG. A couple of years ago, Hasbro handed out the first round of Toy Fair Vaders to attendees of their exhibit, this year I think they outdid themselves.
This year they incorporated the upcoming Episode 3 movie into the press release kit, and what we got is an awesome Collectible. The Press Kit Features figures that will be available later this year when the E3 line is released. When in it's closed position the press kit has a picture of Anakin, with the caption "A young Jedi named Anakin Skywalker was seduced by the dark side of the Force...". In the bubble is encased an E3 Anakin figure. However, when you open the flap to take the press kit notes out, the figure in the bubble rotates and on the other side is an E3 Darth Vader figure! The art on the opened flap is of Vaders Helmet above molten lava.

Check out the pics below:

    BeJedi.com Updates!

    Posted by Pete | February 01, 2005 at 11:39 AM ET |

Our good friends over at BeJedi.com have been hard at work adding more content to their site and they wanted you to know all the good stuff that has been going on.
They have posted the interview with Iain Lowson (the principal writer for the Wars Facts Files by De Agostini). Iain is the first in a series of interviews that they’ll be doing with people who are working with or around the Star Wars phenomenon.
Second, they have added a feature that they hope to be of service to the international fan community by opening a Convention Roster. In this new section, we will collect information about conventions we know about so that you can check for conventions in your area and learn when they will be held and which guest stars will attend.
Thirdly and lastly, they want to draw your attention to their contribution to charity on the upcoming Star Force event. They will auction off a number of autographs from Star Wars actors, ranging from common to some pretty rare and hard-to-get ones. While the auction will be held on the actual Star Force event, there is a way for fans outside Belgium to put a bid. To learn how that works, refer to this page.
