In addition, LEGO showed the invited media guests the latest LEGO Star Wars products. They also premiered a new book entitled Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy. This modestly priced (and gorgeous) book gets released on November 10th. We highly suggest you pre-order your copy now. It's simply stunning. Anyway, the Droid Tales Series Finale premieres this Monday on Disney XD. Sigh. I don't know what your areas look like obviously as I live outside of Philadelphia and don't get out that much. And your own mileage could greatly vary (I doubt that honestly). But I have to admit that I am already exhausted of seeing nothing in the Star Wars sections but big blue pegboard at Walmart, starry black pegboard at TARGET and off-white pegboard at Toys R Us. This is a NEW STAR WARS MOVIE PRODUCT LAUNCH so my brain is unable to compute how stores aren't inundated with Hasbro's The Force Awakens products. Compressed schedule or not, Hasbro is ALWAYS playing catch up. Is this unavoidable? Isn't Disney upset? Secondary (i.e. not important) sub-lines like Hero Mashers and Micro Machines have managed to make their way to stores, but the core basic figure, well, let's just say that thank goodness I go on about 1% of the toy runs I did during the 2006 – 2012 golden era years of Hasbro. What have your experiences been? If it wasn't for online, I don't think I would have anything for my collection or JTA to review than what I found beyond Force Friday. Let's hope Hasbro's promises of a product-filled November do indeed come to pass. It HAS to otherwise it's going to be a very disappointing Christmas for young Star Wars fans.

Here is another scale of figures arriving at retail in Singapore that we officially know nothing about since Hasbro didn't let us know. Apparently these will only be released in East Asia and few other international areas per our source. The 5" – 6" scale shampoo bottles are certainly perplexing. We are getting a few reports of Walmart stores getting steadier supplies of The Black Series 3.75" line. While this gives a ray of hope that they plan to stock the line well, this hasn't been consistent enough for us to quell our fears. What have your experiences been? JTA reader jt send us this image. What a shame the waves only contain a handful of characters.

An image has shown up on Facebook of someone (who may even be a reader of ours – not sure – it's why we're posting this as anonymous) who has purchased a sealed case of the Poe Dameron/First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper TARGET exclusive. I am assuming since we posted the news with the DPCI we're somehow indirectly responsible for this. While the comments on the actual post are relatively harmless, a few discussions outside of the thread are filled with a little bit of anger. Now, I feel a purchase like this is just plain silly. But if this person wants to buy a sealed case, why can't he? Now, hear me out. I am not saying it's OK to do this at the expense of those who are unable to secure this themselves. But if someone wants a sealed case, why can't Hasbro make enough to make this guys hoard completely worthless? Then and only then will the perceived greediness die out. If Hasbro made enough where there were plenty everywhere where the last few units needed to be cleared out on discount, then people like this guy would perhaps revisit the concept of "needing" a sealed case of six. Of course, finding that balance is the key. By the way, how does one possibly enjoy a sealed case of toys. I find that very alarming. Are you superman with X-ray vision maybe?

Technically, the Poe Dameron/First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper TARGET/Argos exclusive doesn't exist. And it's only a mirage that you may be finding it with the DPCI magic trick at the TARGET store level. And that's because Hasbro hasn't announced it yet. You should know by now how nothing is true until Hasbro announces it! All joking aside, despite Poe's awkward "blue beard", it's probably the nicest thing made for The Force Awakens this year. Lucasfilm announced today that the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. I had a pretty amazing conversation with a fellow collector in NY prior to the Hasbro 'Twas The Night Before Preview Party. But what made this talk particularly special was because this person lives across the globe and we speak different primary languages. Today we are opening up a new Research Droids Reviews database, featuring miscellaneous reviews that don't quite fit into our main collectible-based database. We've worked hard to make this new database different enough from our Core database (this time with a bronze theme), yet similar enough so you can still follow along with the format that you are used to. This will act as a companion database, featuring (at first) reviews from both The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels television shows. We've gone in and back-filled all of Mike Taber's reviews from the final The Clone Wars season (The Lost Mission episodes) and the first Season of Star Wars Rebels. This should give you plenty to peruse as we get ready to start adding new episodes of Star Wars Rebels this week!

Also, starting very soon, Mike is going to go back and review the first 5 seasons of The Clone Wars, in chronological order (as defined by StarWars.com). This should be a fun way for everyone to revisit that awesome series! We will add these reviews during 'down time' when Star Wars Rebels is not airing.

As usual, the annual ‘Twas The Night Before NYCC Preview Party was a blast. Hasbro entertained guests from around the globe at the beautiful Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC. The environment was relaxed and the discussions informal, which all worked together to make visitors feel comfortable enough to “geek out” with each other. Although Hasbro didn’t schedule any formal Q&A time with various sites for this event, Hasbro Marketing Director Joe Ninivaggi was kind enough to speak with JTA and answer some of those pressing general and broad questions that are driving us batty. This is a relaxed and informal summary of the talks that took place, not a word for word verbatim transcription. However, the final draft of this was approved by Hasbro per our request. (more....)

Hasbro certainly knows how to derail a brand new figure line with a terribly planned inaugural wave, don't they? With an upcoming Sabine Wren coming in this scale, expect to see a repaint of this sporting her colors. (There is no way we're only going to see this once. Guaranteed!)
