You have to wonder what must happen in Hasbro’s corporate offices. Always seemingly grasping for straws, they create wasted action figure lines that serve the brand little to no purpose. With excellent versions of Bo-Katan Kryze in The Vintage Collection and The Black Series toy lines, why is there a need for an in-between scale with only five points of articulation, inferior sculpting, and minimal accessories? But that’s what the Epic Hero Series line brings to Star Wars collectors. Bo-Katan Kryze isn’t a well-known Star Wars character, but Hasbro keeps reinventing the Mandalorian for the toy line. Collectors have little interest. The Epic Hero Series lineup is an assortment of characters across the Star Wars saga with little theming or organization. And they’re already releasing the exact action figures in different ways. For example, Bo-Katan Kryze comes single-carded and packed with Moff Gideon in a two-pack. This approach is wrong because these are cheap action figures, and Hasbro can afford to release all-new tooling of new characters instead of re-releasing them. Bo-Katan Kryze comes with a unique accessory, a blaster pistol. The figure also comes in a darksaber. This line isn’t for everyone, and we don’t anticipate the line having life for much longer.
