The End Result of Poor Distribution: Walmart Edition
Yesterday I went to a liquidation store because I knew they had star wars figures. I just didn’t realize how many figures they had… There were cases upon cases full of Cassian and Jyn, and the remaining third of the stack was split between Death Troopers, Scarif Troopers, Lando, and Ackbar. These figures were Walmart exclusive. As we know Walmart is a great retail partner for Hasbro </sarcasm>. The evidence against their poor distribution is mounting. The Kessel Run cardboard playset is barely showing up in stores a year after it came out. The Jabba’s Palace Playset was not able to meet preorders online, is now not available online, and has yet to light upon the shelves of a Walmart we have heard of. The logjam of wave 1 TVC is still plaguing every Walmart I set foot in.
I agree with our friends at Banthaskull. If there is any way for Hasbro to recall wave 1 so the floodgates can open on desirable figures, we want them to do so. Send reps to the stores with cases of Rogue One Stormtroopers, and replace the pegwarmers still in stores with them.
