Hasbro Imperial March Livestream: The Black Series Reveals

Well, that was a very pleasant surprise and probably the best Hasbro Star Wars livestream in literal ages! Not just when it comes to the number of reveals, but also the presentation felt much more alive this time, less scripted, less teleprompter reading and actually, just like five people having fun with the reveals… Anyway, much to my own surprise Hasbro revealed a ton of The Acolyte figures, which will all be released in Fall 2024!

  • Jedi Master Sol
  • Padawan Jecki Lon
  • Jedi Knight Yord Fandar
  • Jedi Master Indara
  • Mae (Assassin)

ALL figures come with their robes and each has a unique lightsaber! Only Mae comes with various knives/daggers instead, but she too has her purple cloak. All the figures are mainline items in the US and Fan Channel / Amazon / Pulse items in Europe and everything revealed today will be available for pre-order on March 21st at 1 pm ET!

On top of that a new Darth Maul holocomm figure was revealed as well and there will also be a new Moff Gideon roleplay helmet

There are also quite a few exciting pipeline reveals! Stay tuned for the update coming very soon with all the photos and some discussion!

So much new stuff!

Okay, there is a lot to unpack today in what is one of the best Hasbro livestreams in ages, Steve Evans left a comment on JTA the other day where he hinted at upcoming changes, so if that stream today is a result of those changes then hats off to Steve, he absolutely put a new spin on how the team reveals the items. And of course the number of items revealed, at least for The Black Series, is also very welcome. I would not have thought we get so many The Acolyte reveals today. No matter what you think about the show, no matter how good or bad it will be, Jedi are Jedi and work in any context and I think all the Jedi revealed today look fantastic and slightly distinct too, not quite as boring as the prequel Jedi.

Another thing: the Black Series received a box design update, gone are the angled boxes, we are now back to more traditional rectangular boxes, but they kept the mural!

Okay, let’s dive in!

Darth Maul Holocomm

Probably the least exciting reveal of today, another Holocomm figure, this time it’s Darth Maul in his Clone Wars outfit. They updated the lights in the puck.

But now on to the many The Acolyte reveals, which came somewhat as a surprise. But it’s good to see that Hasbro is somewhat more timely in their reveals for new shows! And the figures will even be available in Fall of 2024, so not that much long after the show has ended, just in time for the Christmas season!

Jedi Master Sol

No matter if you like or hate the High Repulic, I think the High Republic Jedi look pretty nice and more interesting than their prequel counterparts. Sol comes with some armor parts, the color scheme is different as well and he will make for a good Jedi figure. Hasbro gave him a pretty hilarious grumpy facial expression, which I like, “neutral” is not always the best option!

Padawan Jecki Lon

Action pose without the robe

This figure comes as somewhat of a surprise, but a welcome one. This is Dafne Keen’s character in The Acolyte, we get an all new, all newly sculpted female alien Jedi and she’s also a bit shorter than the others, which means future kitbashes will have more options. With so many all new sculpts Hasbro really can kitbash lots of other Jedi. I think Jecki is the most interesting looking of them all, because she is an alien with a fetching color scheme and pattern.

Jedi Knight Yord Fandarr

A somewhat more “normal” Jedi Knight, but he will certainly complete the team of Jedi! He looks as good as all the other Acolyte Jedi.

Jedi Master Indara

If one figure was a given then of course Carrie-Anne Moss’ “Indara”. Although I have to say I am not entirely sold on the headsculpt here, but in hand samples need to be reviewed since photos can look a bit off at times, still, it’s great we get her! And like all the other figures revealed today she will be a brand new figure, i.e. none of the Acolyte figures revealed today share any parts, even the lightsabers are all unique and have different colors.

Mae (Assassin)

Mae without the robe, the armor may look more medieval Japan than Star Wars but it’s certainly a good design

Amandla Stenberg’s character was also a given, since she’s the main star of the series and the plot revolves around her. While I think that the mail armor looks very off for Star Wars the design itself is still very interesting and intricate. And this time Hasbro even got the hair right (very much unlike what they did to poor Shin) and added the proper color grading, Mae comes with several throwing knives and her purple cloak. She also comes with the bandana, which is removable.

A Black Series roleplay helmet was also revealed, it’s Moff Gideon’s helmet!

Moff Gideon roleplay helmet

This helmet will be available next year in spring 2025. It will be a Fan Channel / Amazon / Pulse item in the US and Europe!

ALL other items reveals will be available in fall 2024! And as mentioned, pre-orders go live tomorrow on March 21st and 1 pm ET or 17:00 GMT / 18:00 CET!

And last but not least we get a few exciting pipeline reveals!

Upcoming Black Series figures

Dedra Meero may not be the biggest surprise, but it’s good we finally have confirmation she is coming! I suppose a few more Andor figures will follow once season 2 is released. We also get Ahsoka the White from Lord of the Rings and since TVC already got them the Enoch / Night Trooper 2-pack is also not a huge surprise. Yoda will come with his council chair and despite the cartoon image both Yoda and Gree will have a realistic look!

And finally a closer look at the new (old) Black Series box design:

We get the traditional rectangular box again, but the pencil drawing on the front is gone since Hasbro wisely decided to keep the mural on the spine of the box. I never liked the angled design all that much, but I am an opener and box design is not really of importance to me… how do you feel about the change if you collect the figures in the box?

And that’s it. In my opinion this was one of the best Star Wars livestreams in quite a while! And they even teased the new HasLab that will be revealed on May 4th! The Black Series got a ton of new figures, The Vintage Collection also got some goodies and a really good looking Leia  and also some The Acolyte figures and regardless of how good or bad The Acolyte will be – getting more Jedi, with all their robes, and all with unique sculpts, is pretty exciting!

But what do you think? Did you enjoy the livestream more than before? Will you get some of the items revealed today?

I will pre-order all the Acolyte figures, and skip the Holocomm Darth Maul, since I have no need for that.
