Lladró unveils its version in porcelain of Grogu™

The Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2023 in London -from April 7 through 10- is the chosen scenario by the porcelain creations brand to present its particular tribute to a lovable character. And more news to come from a galaxy far, far away…

March 2023 — One of the best-loved characters from The Mandalorian, Grogu™ is the subject of the latest creation by Lladró artists. The porcelain creations brand has chosen the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2023 in London—from April 7 through 10—to present its particular tribute to a lovable character who has conquered the hearts of countless Star Wars fans all over the world ever since he made his first appearance in the series The Mandalorian. Grogu ™ is a child from the same species as the Jedi master Yoda and possesses the same powers.

Handcrafted in porcelain, particularly worth underscoring in Grogu™ is the sculptural work, which manages to achieve an incredible likeness with the character, and also the variety of decorative techniques employed. While the face, ears and hands are decorated with liquid colors, ideal for enhancing all the details etched on the skin, subtle pearlescent touches in soft stony grey and pink were used on certain areas. Other elements, like the clothing, use a painting-and-erasing technique that increases the effect of volume and depth. The intense gaze of Grogu™ by Lladró, ready to conquer the hearts of collectors and the legions of fans of the Star Wars saga, comes to life thanks to soft glazed touches.

Grogu™ joins Lladró’s catalog of creations dedicated to Star Wars. In its own dedicated space at the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2023, the brand will also be exhibiting unique portraits of characters like Darth Vader™ —in a limited edition of 504, already sold out, launched in 2022— and the heroines Ahsoka Tano™ and Queen Amidala™ —both in limited editions of 1000—, Princess Leia™ and Rey™.

Grogu™, as well as the other pieces in the Star Wars line by Lladró, are made in porcelain following an entirely handcrafted process and are available all around the world in the brand’s boutiques and authorized points of sale and in the online store www.lladro.com.
