New Photos And Info For The MAFEX Mandalorian Action Figure

It’s now been confirmed that the upcoming Mafex Beskar armor Mandalorian action figure will not come with a jetpack. However, the figure comes with Baby Yoda aka “The Child” instead. Check out the photo of the figure below (make sure to view the larger version). You can see here where the Mafex figure excels, extremely lifelike and fluid posing is possible, helped by the fact that the proportions are perfect. This is the figure you need if you want a true to life 1/12 scale Mandalorian! Click through for one more photo!

And here is another photo of the magazine:

Mafex The MandalorianThe Mafex version of the Mandalorian and the cutest toddler in all of Star Wars won’t give you the crib or any alternate hands / heads or anything really. Also, it seems the Mafex version of Baby Yoda has zero articulation, or maybe just the head (doubtful though), but it seems the arms can’t move, since the coat is one piece of plastic, without any seams for a joint. So for fans of Baby Yoda the SHF version may still be a worthwhile investment, since it comes with the crib plus stand, soup bowl and alternate heads and is still somewhat posable with soft goods instead of plastic for the coat.

The Hasbro Black Series version will also give you the bowl, but also a frog and even the metal knob, however there’s no crib. But the added bonus is that you won’t have to pay extra for the Mafex version of “The Child”. The Mandalorian action figure will be expensive enough. The magazine page also tells us that the figure will be 9680 Yen. That’s 90 USD or 83.50 Euros. A hefty price tag.

It’s also kind of curious that of the three 1/12 scale versions of Baby Yoda (please be brave, TVC fans with “0” official Baby Yodas at the moment…), none can be called “ultimate”. The Black Series version lacks a crib, SHF lacks the frog and metal knob, and Mafex is really very barebones, just Baby Yoda, and apparently it’s 1 POA at best, or even 0 POA.

So maybe it’s best to pose the Mafex Mandalorian with the SHF Baby Yoda that stole the frog and metal ball from his Black Series twin.

But before you can do that… will you pay the premium price for the Mafex Mandalorian?
