Toy Run Tuesday #26 - New Years Resolutions

Welcome back everyone to another Toy Run Tuesday. Only a short break since our last edition which was posted last Thursday. This time, let’s focus on the upcoming year. What goals do you have when it comes to your Star Wars collection? Click through to read a little more, check out a custom I finished this week, and let us know in the comments what you want to do in 2020 with your collection!

This year will be big for Star Wars collectors. We’ll find out whether Hasbro will keep the license to make our beloved action figures after the end of this year. We’ll go without a big-screen release for the whole year, which is a first for the last several. Clone Wars will get its final season, and the Mandalorian (the coolest show ever) will air its second season in the Fall.

For our discussion today, I want to ask: what do you want your collection to look like by the end of 2020?

I have a few goals.

  1. I want to get my craft room finished (oh, heck, at least started…). I have shelves that need put up on the walls so that I can start building my wall-city for my figures. That will free up so much space and allow me to remove so many figures from boxes where I can’t enjoy them.
  2. Get back to making diorama parts for my side-hustle, John Morog Customs.
  3. Buy a 3D Printer (to make more diorama parts of course).
  4. Make more customs from The Mandalorian (unless a miracle occurs and Hasbro makes them for me).

I think those are some “smart” goals. Now, what about you? Is there a grail you’ve been after that you finally want to buy in 2020? Do you want to rearrange your collection a certain way? Will you commit to finally dusting off those shelves of figures arranged like dominoes? Is there a new angle to collecting you want to try (props, photography, diorama-building)? Let us know in the comments below!

Lastly, what would a TRT be without some photos of toys! I have more for next week, but for now I just wanted to share a custom I made that I dubbed “the armorer’s brother.”

Thanks for taking a look at my week in Star Wars!
