Take a Comparative Look at The Many 6" Vaders

I’ve started down the rabbit hole of Marvel Legends figures recently, so I’ve started following The Fwoosh for news in that regard. They write the occasional Star Wars article as well, and today they posted a wonderful video about all the various 6″ Darth Vader figures on the market. In addition to reporting the news of an upcoming Figuarts Vader, we have reviewed several Darth Vader figures in great detail, so click through for The Fwoosh’s video as well as links to our reviews.

Research Droid Reviews (RDR’s) for Darth Vader in the order pictured above:
SH Figuarts Vader

“Darth Vader looks dynamic. He looks fantastic. And aside from being too short, he may just be one of the greatest 6” Darth Vader figures of all time, although when compared against Hasbro’s [Black Series #2 Vader], this figure has very little competition.”

Legacy Pack (Special Edition Darth Vader)

“The best way to describe The Black Series [Star Wars 40] Legacy Pack (Special Edition Darth Vader) set is that Hasbro was looking to get forty bucks for their mostly new Darth Vader sculpt… Overall, you’re left with a product that stands apart from the rest of the line.”

Darth Vader #43

“Hasbro reevaluated their approach to this classic Star Wars icon and for the most part started from the ground up to deliver a product that not only satisfies but impresses. Darth Vader is proudly an all-new figure.”

Darth Vader #2 (Droopy Dog)

“Because his center body thickness isn’t proportionate to his height, Darth Vader comes across as needing to devote a little more time to his cardio at the gym to shed some of the extra weight.”

After seeing all these Vaders side by side, I really must admit that I like the Hasbro 40th version the best. Not to mention you can pick up that vader for around $10-15 some places still. Which one is your favorite? I don’t personally own a 6″ Vader, but the 40th release is tempting now… Must. Resist…

My favorite 3.75″ Vader is the Black Series #26 figure. (and I actually own that figure). Maybe we’ll cover the 3.75″ releases in another post sometime.

How many Darth Vader figures do you own? Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
