Aside from the standalone films, Star Wars: Resistance is perhaps the latest installment of Disney Star Wars that shows the most significant potential in my opinion. I love the old school animation very much. And I hope the story will be able to explain things about the Resistance that are utterly unanswered in The Force Awakens. I have watched the trailer a couple of times now, and I have to say I am stunned by the reaction of the public. (more….)
With 1.3 million views exceeded, over 11,000 people have given the trailer a “thumbs up.” That’s great, right? However and shockingly, there are over 99,000 “thumbs down” votes. That’s nine times more negative reactions than positive ones. What is going on here? Does this present an accurate summation of how people feel about this new and upcoming Disney property? Or is something else at work here? The trailer was entertaining. At best, everyone should remain cautiously optimistic about this new series before making judgments about it, correct? I wonder if the series has a fair chance. Between the late night showing and cringe-worthy comments underneath the YouTube video, is success attainable for this show and will it interest the audience it’s intended to grab?
