If you have The Black Series [Phase III] Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe solid case figures on pre-order, there is a pretty sure chance you’re not going to get them from where you’ve pre-ordered them. Hasbro has cancelled production on these figures and orders will not be filled. Then again, if there are efforts to get these back into production by retailers, the possibility exists that we could see them again, albeit very unlikely at this point. But if you see them now, you should probably grab them if you need ’em!
The Force Link Starter Set/Kylo Ren pack is a whole lot of fun. See why you should give it a chance in our Research Droids Reviews today! We thank Litzky PR and Hasbro for providing us with our review sample today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.

It is with the utmost sorrow and sadness that I relay to you that my very good friend, JTA regular, former colleague, and wise counsel ADAM MAY has passed away. A Star Wars collector extraordinaire, Adam has passed on and become one with the Force. Adam was greatly responsible for bringing Star Wars fan site GalacticHunter.com to its peak in the mid to late 2000s and provided the Star Wars collecting community with some of the biggest and breaking rumor reports we had ever seen, up to and including breaking The Legacy Collection “Big” Millennium Falcon story in 2008. He has the distinction of being the only Star Wars collector in the world to have an official Hasbro 3.75″ super-articulated action figure made of himself when he won a TARGET sponsored contest organized by Hasbro. This contest win entitled him to a trip at Lucasfilm to get his likeness scanned for the unique Stormy Sevenspire action figure. Adam May was an incredible journalist and writer and his contributions to the Star Wars collecting community will never be forgotten. He was an inspiration to so many, and definitely to me. I developed a passion to do what I do here at JTA because of Adam and my efforts pale in comparison. Adam, I miss you already my friend. You have been an asset in my own life and a faithful friend to me. I am heartbroken. Adam is survived by his husband Todd Vierling who lives in Atlanta Georgia.
JTA sponsor Dorkside Toys has put The Black Series [Phase III] wave 13 figures up individually. Get hot figures like Maz Kanata, Elite Praetorian Guard, General Leia Organa and others right now for normal MSRP before they’re gone!
They know what you did last week. And apparently they know a whole lot more. JTA reader “Sneaky Snake” tried to circumvent the system and order FOUR (4) Clone Captain Rex figures and Hasbro Toy Shop did their order analysis and thwarted his efforts. Click through for the exchange.
JTA reader Jason M. alerts us to the fact that Entertainment Earth has placed wave 2 of the Two Packs line up for pre-order. What you may not know is that they had a humorous listing of code names that has since been revised. Click HERE to check out what you missed
These two sets are NOW AVAILABLE on the Disney Shop Parks App! Special thanks to JTA reader Thomas S. for the alert!
It appears as if the Scarif Stormtrooper is finally making a more frequent appearance at brick and mortar Walmart stores. We received two reports last week but thought they were just freaky occurrences. But now more solid reports are coming into our newsroom. JTA reader Agustin found this in Florida!
It looks like GameStop has begun to cancel orders for the Inferno Squad TIE Fighter Pilot. JTA reader Ray M. has received an email from GameStop explaining that his order has been cancelled. The figure also now shows as “Unavailable” on the site.
UPDATE: Our readers are letting us know that their orders are being processed for this figure, so it appears this cancellation example must have something to do with an outdated credit card on file for Ray. Thanks to all who wrote in and in the comments!
If you’re a 6″ collector and you don’t own the Senate Guard/Imperial Royal Guard/Emperor’s Shadow Guard (Legends)/Elite Praetorian Guard (With Double Blade) four-pack, then you should be shamed by being publicly flogged in your local town square. That’s all we’re saying. This set is the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
I had nearly forgotten about these Walmart Exclusive 40th Anniversary Funko Pop sets that we reported on previously in June, but JTA reader Justin sends us his find at his local walmart. After doing some digging, I found that these have just hit a few stores near me in NJ as well. Might be time to hit your Walmart if you’re a Pop fan! (or Ewok fan!). They are out of stock online, but here is the Ewok Set and Bespin Set in case you want to keep track!
We have another 6-Inch The Black Series [Phase III] Visual Guide update tonight. Click below to have a look at our guide page for the Toys R Us exclusive Admiral Ackbar/First Order Officer set. We also have our detailed review of this set right here.
I rarely ever read Star Wars novels and even I’m excited about Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View. The latest release from Del Rey will hit shelves October 3rd. The book is made up of forty short stories that reimagines a moment from the original film through the eyes of various background and supporting characters. For example, Paul Dini wrote a story titled “Added Muscle” which focuses on Boba Fett. To make things even more enticing, Jon Hamm(!) will portray Boba Fett in the audio book version. USA Today has an exclusive excerpt from Dini’s story, check it out! You can pre-order From a Certain Point of View right here .
Lucasfilm has announced that Star Wars Forces of Destiny is returning with two half-hour television specials that will debut on Disney Channel this October. Click through to read the full announcement and watch a brand new trailer!

At first I thought my bizarrely packaged Clone Captain Rex was just a victim of getting crop-dusted by my good friend Chris Swanski of BanthaSkull.com fame during HASCON, but I am now seeing more occurrences of this strange phenomenon and I don’t think Chris has that much far reaching power. Have any of our readers experienced this strange, strange thing with their Clone Captain Rex figures from HASCON? It looks like we have “Meltgate” now folk if this is a common occurence!
The Toys R Us exclusive Admiral Ackbar/First Order Officer two-pack turned out to be better than we first thought. See why, although not perfect, it looks amazing in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
Well that took forever. Check out an early sneak peek of the awesome “Guardians Of Evil” The Black Series [Phase III] GameStop and Barnes & Noble exclusive four-pack. In short, the Senate Guard and the Emperor’s Shadow Guard (from The Force Unleashed) are the highlights of the set. But it’s also still fun to army build the Imperial Royal Guard and get a different Elite Praetorian Guard to round out your ranks as well. The RDR is coming soon, but check out the 84 image gallery now! We hope that THIS ‘RUMOR REPORT’ makes a whole lot more sense to everyone now. 🙂
We are getting reports left and right and seeing them on social media also just how poorly GameStop is shipping the “Guardians Of Evil” four pack. JTA reader Cobra Saboteur sends his own experience to us. Click through for his report.
The thieves are getting really clever with the stealing. This one took me a second before I figured out what was going on. Check it out for yourself. Special thanks to JTA reader Michael M. for the image!

Tonight we’re adding the 6-inch version of the First Order Stormtrooper Executioner to our The Black Series [Phase III] Visual Guide. Click below for the full details of this Target exclusive. We also have our full review posted right here.
JTA Reader Kam wrote to us to let us know that he received his Black Series 6″ figures from his “E-tailer of choice.” Now, I am not sure where exactly he ordered from, so when we find out we’ll let you know. He received Snoke Throne Room, Guards of Evil 4-pack, and the First Order Stormtrooper Deluxe. My Gamestop exclusives are on the UPS truck as we speak, so you should be seeing yours soon as well (if you haven’t already). Have you received any of these? And if so, where did you order from?
The TARGET exclusive First Order Stormtrooper Executioner doesn’t seem to be performing well at retail, but we believe that has a lot to do with collectors not realizing this figure is mostly new. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
Was the Force Link something that was conceived by Kenner decades ago? We’re thinking this is quite possible. JTA reader Vincent M. directs our attention to a conceptual Kenner item that never made it into production: the Electronic Sound Generator. This entry can be found at the fabulous TheSWCA.com site. Although this cool toy never made it off the ground, it appears that the technology was utilized by Galoob in some form. Click through to read more about it!
Site sponsor Entertainment Earth has JUST PUT UP FOR PRE-ORDER again wave 2 of the 40th anniversary collection. They encourage you to place a pre-order quickly as there will only be a limited supply available and due to its popularity could sell out at any time. This wave of figures is expected to arrive January 2018. Place your order NOW!
Next up for the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Visual Guide updates is Resistance Gunner Paige. Click below for our fully detailed Visual Guide. You can also read our full review right here.
Hasbro: this isn’t an attack. We’re not even making fun of you, so this isn’t meant to pick you apart. We are actually just trying to understand your logic and game plan for the 3.75″ Force Link line. Yes, we understand that in order for Jyn Erso to be Force Link compatible that you had to put her back into production and add a chip into the figure. But why would you choose *her* when Hasbro Toy Shop’s eBay store can’t get rid of the Rogue One version at $2.69? Do you really think that the Star Wars buying market is waiting to add her into their collections…. again and at $7.99 to boot? If you could explain how a character likes this gets considered for a “repack” into the basic figure line, we would appreciate the answer. This isn’t unprecedented ad other characters have received this kind of preferential treatment too. We’re really just curious. THANK YOU!
Pre-order the 40th Anniversary WAVE 2 right now at JTA sponsor Dorkside Toys! They also have a ton of BRAND NEW The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures for extremely low prices. Grab them now before they’re gone!
If you’re a Star Wars collector, you know how this goes. You feel like you’re a yo-yo with how information is relayed and what the true status of the figures you actually want is. As you know, and some people feel we have harped on this for way too long already, is that 40th Anniversary wave 2 is and has been completely sold out since about the summertime. (In fact, it’s believed that this was the case even prior to 2017 SDCC – however, we can not wholly conclude that.) But there is great news ahead. Some of you saw our post last night before we were asked to pull it, but now we can share the details. (more….)
You can order the new Kylo Ren and Rey Forces of Destiny 2-pack at ToysRUs.com now. It also qualifies for free shipping. They also have the TRU Exclusive Force Link Starter Set with Praetorian Guard and First Order Executioner up for pre-order. I’m not sure if that $10 Off coupon will work for this in stores, so if you try it let us know!
UPDATE: For some reason, it’s no longer letting me add the FOD to my cart and only allowing for store pickup. When I posted it, I was able to check out so keep checking back to see if it gets fixed.
John Boyega gives us a rundown of Battlefront II and everything you can expect to see from it. Thanks to JTA Reader Emily for the heads up! Check it out!
If there are any justifications to why the 5POA line should stay, they are probably all found in Resistance Gunner Paige. See why she is a must-have action figure in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Speaking of Brickseek, The Black Series [Star Wars 40] figures are coming up as low as $5 while still showing stock in quite a few areas. If you find these figures actually in stores for these low prices, please send us the proof! Special thanks to JTA reader Michael M. for the reminder.
The Black Series [Phase III] Centerpiece Collection figures as well as the 6″ vehicles were marked down at area Walmarts close to JTA reader Rum Sleg’s hometown. He has the complete store report and you can read it by clicking through. (In my opinion, the sale prices are fair MSRPs for these items!)
While JTA reader and friend CS E. was searching for The Black Series [Phase III] Elite Praetorain Guard on Brickseek, the search result brought down the toy show below with a description “Star Wars-lucas Sw E8 Elite Praetorian Guard”. Uh-oh, this could get ugly. Ms. Kennedy’s panties are going to get all bunched over this for certain! How dare a licensee reference Lucas! Click the image below for more. A case and point example of Disney’s infiltration into the Star Wars universe? Or just a hilarious error. You decide. May the Mouse be with you!
If you’re interested, Hasbro Toy Shop is running a new promotion. If you use promo code HALLOWEEN17 if will entitle you to 20% off of Role Play category items.
It pains us to admit that the Force Link Resistance Tech Rose figure is better than the super-articulated version… by a landslide. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today! Bright orange tags with descriptors like “reduced” mean something is on clearance right? Well, the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] 3.75″ line is doomed then because we have an example of JTA reader Hazzbro Jonez finding the new figures for quite a good deal.
You can now order The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ Jaina Solo at Gamestop.com with a release date of December 10th. I’m not sure if that is the actual date or not because I was told November in store. We’ll keep you updated!
I have just received my shipping notifications for my Guardians of Evil 4-pack and my Snoke Throne Room Exclusives from Gamestop.com. Be sure to keep an eye out for yours as well! If you still need them, you can still order them below.
Things From Another World has some of the newest Comic Trades up for pre-order. If you’re one who prefers the trades, they are great prices for these titles including Part One of the new Darth Vader Series (a MUST read), Journey To TLJ Captain Phasma, Rogue One, Screaming Citadel, Darth Maul- Son of Dathomir (new printing), and many, many more. And if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the RDR’s Comic Reviews!
Well, we have all heard by now that JJ Abrams has taken over for Colin Trevorrow as the Director of Episode IX, but THR also found out that he basically screwed over Paramount and a 10-Million Dollar obligation in order to take on the Star Wars project. You can read more about it at TheHollywoodReporter.com. Geeze, drama has become constanty associated with Disney’s Star Wars movies! (although TLJ has been pretty smooth, knock on wood!)
Rian Johnson has formally announced that Episode VIII has finally wrapped post production. Talkies Network has the full story!
Entertainment Earth has updated their product page with a couple of images of Jaina Solo. What a fine figure she is indeed!
The second annual Play Fair event is taking place on 11/4 and 11/5 at the Javits Center in NYC. This year’s event will be more than double in size with new activities, bigger features, and greater ways for children, parents, teenagers, and fans to play! Play Fair gathers more than 40 exhibitors, including LEGO, Cartoon Network, Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Alex Brands, Midtown Comics, and presenting sponsors Spin Master and Toys “R” Us for a celebration of play and entertainment for all ages. Unlike Toy Fair, the public is invited to join in on the fun & games at Play Fair, which includes larger hands-on exhibits and demonstrations, awe-inspiring displays, talent appearances, dozens of toy and entertainment brands, and never-before-seen exclusives. Attendees can feel, touch, and take home their favorite toys and games — and be the first to glimpse the toys of tomorrow! Play Fair is located at 655 West 34th Street in Hall 1A and 1B.
You saw our report on the next case assortment for The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ lineup. But there seems to be another list floating around as JTA sponsor BBTS has a different assortment listed than what Entertainment Earth and our other sponsors and sources have. Instead of Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master), Rey (Jedi Training) and Kylo Ren the other lists substitutes these figures for Captain Poe Dameron, Finn (First Order Disguise) and General Leia Organa. We think this “differing” case assortment is worlds better. What you do you think?
UPDATE: Big Bad Toy Store has updated their case assortment to the same as what we had initially reported to you.
If you have a Walgreens card, The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures are on sale for $14.99 each Special thanks to JTA reader cress for the alert.
The R4-X2/Y5-X2 Droid Factory two-pack is a little redundant. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today! It’s raining cancellations! In what is sure to be a devastating blow to collectors waiting in anticipation for The Black Series [Star Wars 40] Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2), some of our readers are receiving the dreaded email from Amazon that their long-delayed figures are ultimately being cancelled. Hasbro also stated in the Star Wars Action News article that Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) and Han Solo were two figures still coming, so this is definitely upsetting news. Click through to read the email going out to some collectors. Special thanks to JTA reader Matthew N. for sharing his experience with us.
Amazon has created a product page for the upcoming Supreme Leader Snoke 6″ figure. This figure should be part of the third post-Force Friday II wave of The Black Series [Phase III] action figure. Special thanks to JTA reader rivesjunctionite for the alert!
We have seen reports of the new Walgreens Exclusive The Black Series Obi-Wan Kenobi [Force Spirit] 6″ showing up in stores in North Carolina and now in California. It might be time to start making those Walgreen stops. I know, I know…They’re difficult trips to make. I share the same experience many of you do with stores that get them 3 months late or never at all, but let the hunt begin! Have you found it in your area? Let us know!
The Finn (First Order Disguise) figure from The Black Series [Phase III] line is pretty nice, although not perfect. Find out more in our Research Droids Reviews today! A recent rumor has popped up claiming that someone was seen on set wearing the famous suit during filming. There are no images of this as of now, but according to comicbookmovie.com their source is reliable. The question is, do we NEED Darth Vader in the Han Solo movie? Yes…He was used expertly in Rogue One and some may argue he had some of the best scenes, but I personally don’t think he should be stuck in every anthology film just for the sake of using him. It may water down the impact that Vader has. What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you think we really need to see Vader in this film? In other news, Ron Howard teases us with a possible Kessel Run. Check out more of that info here at CBR.com
We have another The Black Series [Phase III] six inch figure Wave 13 update. Click below to have a look at the Visual Guide for Captain Poe Dameron (53). You can also check out our full review right here.

It’s hard to believe, but the HASCON exclusive Clone Captain Rex hasn’t budged that much on eBay as far as what it is commanding, despite being available for nearly 45 minutes on Hasbro Toy Shop today. The question is how low will he go?
JTA sponsor Dorkside Toys has a ton of brand new The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures that are significantly reduced in price. While marked as “NON MINT” I can attest that the packages are in brilliant, almost perfect condition (from my own personal experience). Spend $69 or more and get FREE SHIPPING. All other orders pay only a $4 FLAT SHIPPING cost. Get them before they’re gone at these incredible prices!

The Dark Lord of the Sith finally has a Jedi Lightsaber, but he’s about to find out that it’s not that easy to corrupt a Kyber Crystal in this next entry in the Comic Research Droids Reviews. Vader had just vanquished Master Infil’a and taken his Jedi weapon, but now he must corrupt the crystal within to claim it as his own. Take a look at how Lord Vader struggles with the conflict within himself and how Anakin Skywalker fights to break through the darkness in Darth Vader- The Chosen One (Part V). Don’t forget to drop me a line with your requests for future reviews! Coming up next is the Mace Windu miniseries.

An unfortunate turn of events that our friends at Yakface.com have experienced should have been the golden opportunity to make us all reflect on what’s important and bind us all together in solidarity, but in many ways it has disgustingly become an attack on other competitor sites instead (as evidenced by some of their readers in the comments). I am not going to be long-winded, but the absolute LIES, DECEPTIONS, FALSE NARRATIVES and outright DISGUST being posted by some of you on social media and in comments is SHAMEFUL and much of it is libelous. It’s sad that your hatred for other sites, including JTA, has made you go down rabbit holes and take attention off of what Yakface.com was trying to relay to you, and especially when most of it is false and stretched. I welcome any of you to come here and discuss your issues with us or any other site on their/our own turf. We’re certainly not going to add to the mayhem outside of what gets posted here. Don’t be such cowards. This isn’t about JTA or any other site. Let go of your hate for a moment and lift up and encourage Yakface.com, for they do great things for the collecting community.
Finally, you can pre-order the exclusive Poe Dameron’s Boosted X-wing Fighter from ToysRUs.com with an October 27th availability date for $49.99 (ouch). Special thanks to JTA reader Michael M. for the alert!.

Retailer Toys R Us has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This action will allow them to work with creditors to hopefully turnaround their current financial status. Toys R Us will operate in a “business as usual” fashion for the foreseeable future. The NY Times has the full story. (This is the “big announcement” we let you know was coming last night.)
If Bantha Skull is done with their “n-1” attack tactics, we’d like to present our readers with a thorough look at the HASCON exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] Clone Captain Rex figure in our Research Droids Reviews today! PLEASE SEE UPDATE! Jedi Temple Archives has just learned that things are in motion right now as we speak that will materialize as a “major” Star Wars related announcement Tuesday morning. We don’t know what it’s about or in what capacity it relates to Star Wars, but it is supposedly HUGE news. Apologies in advance if whatever this is doesn’t materialize, but we were encouraged to take note that something big is coming. We will be sure to link to it if/when it goes live.
UPDATE: We have learned that the announcement has nothing to do with being directly related to Star Wars. But it does have to do with being indirectly related to Star Wars collecting. Stay tuned for the announcement tomorrow.
We have our final Wave 9 The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ Visual Guide update tonight, featuring Resistance Tech Rose. Click below for our guide page, and click here for our review page.
We’re continuing our months-long look at the new products that were released for the Force Friday II product launch. It’s now time to check out The Black Series [Phase III] Resistance Tech Rose super-articulated 3.75″ figure in our Research Droids Reviews today! We think her character is getting unnecessary flack too. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
So far we’ve had Force Friday in 2015. Rogue Friday in 2016. And Force Friday II in 2017. For 2018, what would be a good product line launch name for Han Solo: A Star Wars Story? Unlike our headline, we’re “thinking” that Wookiee Weekend would be a nice use of alliteration, no?
The Black Series [Phase III] also features two versions of the First Order Stormtrooper Executioner. Click below to check out Visual Guide for the 3.75″ version. We also have a full review of this figure right here.
If you’re interested, you can also check out full galleries of the latest Droid Factory figures from Disney Parks including the inner workings of the new BB droids from the cool new four-pack. There is also a gallery showing Resistance astromech droids R4-X2 and Y5-X2. Check it all out in our Research Droids Reviews.
Hasbro would be the first to admit this, but they have really been in an urgent state of “playing catch-up” ever since the inception of The Black Series 6″ line. It’s really no one’s fault at Hasbro. When you start a line from the beginning, you’re already “x” years behind to anything else that has already been produced. It must be quite an undertaking trying to organize a vast cast of characters which make sense for this line that contains so many characters while including new Star Wars Entertainment. Trying to please everyone in this scale is proving to be quite overwhelming in some regards. (more….)
Ugh. You saw our earlier report on Toys R Us on the front page recently, and how they were considering filing for bankruptcy, but creditors already see them in a death spiral as their debt load seems almost incurable from their viewpoint). According to some sources, Toys ‘R’ Us could file for bankruptcy as soon as next week, and they note that “nervous suppliers have scaled back shipments and tightened terms to the retailer ahead of the crucial holiday selling season, on worries they may not got repaid and their payables would be lumped alongside other unsecured pre-petition claims.” While it’s always sad to anyone lose their job, it also makes us wonder if this will impact the availability of their exclusives that were announced for Force Friday II. We wish them the best. Check out the new update at ZeroHedge.com.
We’re consistently adding new photo galleries of the new Force Friday II products in our Research Droids Reviews. If you know how to access the backdoor, good for you, if you don’t, check out the rest of wave 13 which includes jaw-dropping versions of Poe Dameron and Finn (First Order Disguise) by clicking the link below.
We received our Smuggler’s Bounty “Jedi” Box in the mail on Friday. And we finally made some time to photograph its contents. Click through if you’re interested and be sure to pre-order your next box whose theme is based on Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi!
Hasbro Toy Shop’s eBay store has added new stock, but they have also placed many pieces of their current stock on significant discount. Check it out, you may find something you’re looking for and if you spend $14.99 it all ships for FREE!

This is really starting to grate on me. As someone who has been collecting the modern Star Wars line since 1995 (and the vintage line for years before that), I have to admit that I have never seen more instances of figure thefts and figure swapping than I have from 2015 onward. It’s ALWAYS been an issue, but the frequency is very depressing now. Clearly, the new Star Wars films have brought a ton of new collectors, but it seems to have also brought a facet of the unscrupulous which are really cramping the style of this hobby and ruining for other peer collectors AND THE KIDS. But it doesn’t just end here. The attitude I see is just as disconcerting. I belong to quite a few TBS Facebook groups and the frequent entitlement I see (by multiple collectors – certainly not all) that this is funny to “stick it to the man” and “Hasbro can afford this” just flabbergasts me. I guess it’s just a sign of the times. Anyway, please take this article as “don’t do this because it’s morally wrong” and please encourage others to not do this either. The image on the left is mine and the image on the right is courtesy of JTA reader Jeremy W.
Next up is the 3.75″ version of the Elite Praetorian Guard from The Black Series [Phase III]. Click below to view our full Visual Guide, and don’t forget to check out our full review as well.
Well, here is one for the books. Discount chain retailer ROSS has just received brand new Hot Wheels sets (in The Last Jedi packaging). We’re unable to explain why this is. Special thanks to JTA reader and friend Alexander G. for the report.
We and others like our readers have noticed a price reduction for the Force Link Starter Set. We’re wondering how widespread this is and if you’ve seen this as well in your area. This is certainly a step in the right direction as $29.99 was just not a fair MSRP for this. Special thanks to General Hux for the image.
If you want to get them before retail, Robot Kingdom is accepting pre-orders for many of the retailer exclusives coming this Fall in The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ line. Some are sold out now, but many others are still available. They’re also taking pre-orders for Jaina Solo which supposedly ships October 1st (and is part of the third wave of post-Force Friday II TBS6 case assortments. Click through for more.
JTA reader Richard P. sends us a cool store report from Fred Meyer in Lacey Washington. Unbelievably they’re getting in kicker displays full of The Black Series [Phase III] Emperor’s Royal Guard wave which also includes Lando Calrissian, Tusken Raider and the revised K-2SO (among others). To date this case assortment has barely made an appearance at retail, so maybe they’re finally beginning to hit now.
You saw our Walmart store report in the beginning of the month that both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda from the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line were hitting there. But now JTA reader General Hux has sent in a report letting us know that they’re now hitting TARGET. Let us know if you’ve found them there too!
Gamestop is offering Pre-Orders on The Black Series 6″ Jaina Solo IN STORE. Not sure what the date for release is because it shows as 12/31/1979 in my Gamestop app. While I was there, I was informed that on October 11th they will be releasing a new Elite Pro Membership that will be geared towards collectibles. You will get discounts for collectibles throughout the year. I know the Pro membership is worth the $15 because of the multiple Pro Day’s they have throughout the year. Found some GREAT savings today with the BOGO 50% off on ALL collectibles. Also, they can order you items in store if they don’t have it in stock.
If you’re a Pro member at Gamestop.com, then today is your day! You can get AMAZING deals of Buy one get one 50% off on ALL collectibles! That includes ALL Star Wars black series (even the new items such as the speeders or center pieces). Unfortunately, it does NOT apply to pre-orders. Remember, you MUST be a pro member to get the 50% off.
Entertainment Earth has Rey’s Force FX Lightsaber up for pre-order with a December release date.
Chris Swanski at BanthaSkull.com is completely wrong about The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ super-articulated Elite Praetorian Guard. See why he’s so off in his opinions about this figure as we continue a months-long look at new products from the Force Friday II product launch (as well as those on or around that release date) in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! If you live in Canada, you might want to check out Walmart.ca as they have a ton of Star Wars The Black Series 6″ stuff in stock in addition to many 3.75″ figures. JTA reader hammyhamster sent us a link and we have to say we were quite taken aback with the selection. You may want to check it out for yourself as well.

Let’s continue a months-long look at new products from the Force Friday II product launch. Next up is the sadly disappointing Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) super-articulated figure. I guess we should have all seen this coming. If you can’t afford Star Wars figures or you get off from kleptomania, go play BINGO…. or something. This is egregious. Special thanks to friend Victoria from Victoria’s Cantina for the image.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is tonight’s featured Visual Guide update for the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line of basic figures. Click below to have a look at our guide page, and then stop by and read our full review.
It blows my mind how some of our comment threads can crash and burn, regardless if it’s a heated topic or just a simple announcement that there has been a change of movie director. There is certainly a lot of overreaction to other people’s comments with some flying off of the handle, but there are also triggers that are becoming problematic and affecting the enjoyment of our readers. (more….)
Let’s continue a months-long look at new products from the Force Friday II product launch. You saw our friendly warning here months ago about about the 40th Anniversary The Black Series 6″ wave 2 figures; that they were completely sold out. Various interviews with Hasbro at SDCC this years allowed some to believe that they were shipping at that time, but we were cautious to not be eager about this news. But as you know, no units arrived at retail and many people’s pre-orders weren’t fulfilled and remain open or have been canceled. Now Hasbro answers Star Wars Action News’ question (from their HASCON interview) that they’ve all been shipped. Now, there could be some in transit somewhere, but it looks like these figures are finally all gone. We believe they’ve always been gone for months now (and actually have sources that confirmed this). If you need them, check eBay quickly because there is an even stronger chance now with this new confirmation that you’ll never see them again… unless Hasbro orders a new batch to be produced. As you can see from the listings, some figures go for obscene amounts.
Big Bad Toy Store checks in with their latest newsletter. Click through to check out their latest pre-orders and new arrivals.
Our friends at Star Wars Action News have also hosted a Hasbro Q&A session at HASCON. Check it out by clicking through.

With all of the excitement about “photo realistic” technology, we couldn’t wait to ask Hasbro if they would use this progressive technology on figures for The Vintage Collection. (more….)

We just got back from New England so of course the first thing we do is generate a sneak peek gallery of the HASCON exclusive Clone Captain Rex The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figure. Simply stated, it’s a great release. Hasbro did a fine job on replicating this character in realistic style and including functional parts while providing collectors with a fantastic likeness. Older parts have been reused for Clone Captain Rex, but he has also been given plenty of new parts too. The paint job is fantastic and the deco is evenly placed and nicely applied. The accessories are generous and sized appropriately. The review is coming soon, but you can check out our 40-image gallery and basic Collector Notes now. Enjoy!
Our next Visual Guide Update from The Black Series [Phase III] is the six inch Elite Praetorian Guard (50). Click below to have a look at the full guide page, and then stop by and check out our full review.

Jedi Temple Archives and our friends at Bantha Skull have been side by side throughout the entire HASCON event thus far. In fact, our Q&A sessions with Hasbro were back to back. Our Q&A with Hasbro is ready, so click through to listen to the audio. And be sure to keep checking back at BanthaSkull.com for their Q&A session in the very near future too! We sincerely thank Steve Evans and Joe Ninivaggi for taking time out of their schedule to talk to us (it was great seeing you guys) and Alyssa Hackman from Litzky PR for setting up the interview. We have also made Hasbro aware of all the questions you asked that we couldn’t add into our session, so rest assured they’re reading what you have to say. P.S. If anyone wants to transcribe this we will feature it in our comments. Thanks!

Well this was expected. Look at what the HASCON exclusive Clone Captain Rex is going for on eBay. If you were fortunate and first in line you could grab four per badge. Then after 15 minutes they reduced it to two per event. All badges were marked to prevent a double dipping. It is expected that there will be a limited supply of remaining figures available at Hasbro Toy Shop for non-attendees.

Originally seen on our The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ rumor report, Snoke is now officially part of The Vintage Collection as seen below. If you recall, Snoke was removed from the Walmart assortment with the speculation that he would be placed in TVC instead. It looks like this is exactly what happened.

We won’t be asking if any specific figures are coming, but please clarify your question with either 3.75″ or 6″ so we know how to better address your question if it’s chosen. Thank you!

Colin Trevorrow’s dismissal from Star Wars: Episode IX has left Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy searching for a replacement, and it looks like they may turn to a familiar face. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rian Johnson and J.J. Abrams are the top choices to replace Trevorrow. Furthermore, their sources indicate that continued issues with the script led to the Trevorrow’s dismissal. At the moment, Rian Johnson seems like the most likely candidate. Johnson is a well respected writer and may be better suited to finish the script. The word is that Johnson was a perfect fit for The Last Jedi and had a seamless working relationship with Lucasfilm. It makes sense that Lucasfilm would want to work with him again. What do you think about the possibility of Rian Johnson or J.J. Abrams returning to direct Episode IX? Let us Know!
Entertainment Earth is sending out emails notifying readers that their orders for The Black Series [Phase III] Qui-Gon Jinn are being cancelled. When the MSRP was revealed for the Force Link Starter Kit, collectors gasped. Well, how about saving $10 to help that MSRP go down a bit? There is a promotion going on right now through December 31, 2017 where you can get a $10 off coupon when you buy specially marked General Mills products. This display was found at Walmart by JTA reader Craig F.
This is what happens when a vision becomes a fabrication. Colin Trevorrow is OUT as director for Episode IX. Every last Disney Star Wars film has experienced turmoil. Now the second Disney Star Wars film has had a director replaced. This should come as no surprise, but dang if this isn’t shocking!
We are going to continue with our additions to the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Visual Guide! Click below to have a look at the C-3PO basic figure. You can also read our full review right here.
With special thanks to Ricardo from The Astromech Collection for forwarding us this image, it looks like the holiday edition R3-H17 should be imminent at Disney Parks. Check out the carded image of this cool droid!
The seems to be more than just a few TARGET exclusive First Order Stormtrooper Executioner 6″ figure with paint operations errors. We have received five reports already from five different areas of the USA. At first glance it appears to be a return scam, but these are sealed. The helmet is missing the black details. Be careful when choosing your sample. You’ll want to get one with a helmet. that isn’t all white. Thank you goes out to friend Cameron F. and JTA reader Zach N. for the images and readers Mike P., Brian B. and Mark N. for for additional reports.

Entertainment Earth updates their Star Wars [The Last Jedi] section with the 5POA case assortments. Click through for more.
So far there are three things that are sticking in my craw when it comes to porgs. 1. The pun of porg with “porn” (yuck). 2. The mispronunciation of “porg” with “prog” (duh), 3. And last but not least theft of these little porg accessories with the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Chewbacca figure (this makes me so mad). We all knew this was inevitable. Hasbro, get ahead of this mess and produce “porg packs” or something. Thank you. Special thanks to friend Rum Sleg for the report and image.
Today we are releasing the first in series of guest posts from author Tomas Pueyo Brochard. Tomas’ new book, The Star Wars Rings, will be available on September 19th. Back in January we “teased” an exclusive rumor that focused around a wave of Walmart exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ figures. The lineup ended up changing a bit, although we’re now inclined to believe the female X-wing pilot from Episode VII was confused for Rose. Snoke was bumped out of many initial assortments for reasons still unknown, but we imagine he is still planned for The Vintage Collection. And of course we didn’t know what the “new” Royal Guards were going to look like until the new production images leaked. Now thanks to another source of ours we’re able to provide you with a first look at this final wave of The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ figures (which are technically Walmart exclusives at this very moment) but should be available everywhere online soon! Slated with a November street date, you can check out these four super-articulated 3.75″ action figure RIGHT NOW!
As soon as the news broke that Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi were part of the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line, most collectors wanted to know how they differed from past versions. We just found the new Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Obi-Wan Kenobi at Walmart this morning, much to our shock and surprise. The figure has a beautiful sculpt and its deco is interesting. Hasbro utilized the “dot matrix” application to add streaks and highlights to his hair. The robe shell is removable and his arms are attached via ball-socket articulation, certainly a strange approach for an action figure in the Star Wars line. He comes with his signature lightsaber as well. There are rumors that he is to make some sort of an appearance in Episode VIII, so this action figure seems to help add more fuel to that fire. Check out our rough early RDR page by clicking the image below.

Walmart has placed their Star Wars [The Last Jedi] First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter up for order. The vehicle retails for $39.73 and we’re personally unable to process why this item is a retailer exclusive again.
Well, we just discovered that Hasbro has tooled the best 3.75″ Boba Fett action figure of all time. It’s one half of the new Han Solo/Boba Fett Two-Packs set. Sadly, it only comes with five points of articulation. Regardless, it has the greatest head sculpt we have ever seen for this character and possesses a silhouette that perfectly matches the onscreen character. Hasbro, if you’re reading, please convert this figures to super-articulated status so that we can finally have our definitive 3.75″ Boba Fett action figure (and without a removable helmet). It would be the perfect candidate for The Vintage Collection’s return.
If you still need the Rey (Jedi Training)/Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) SDCC exclusive it’s currently in stock!
A reader Riot Trooper Triggs alerts us to a new The Last Jedi product that we haven’t seen until now: a Poe Dameron 12-Inch Figure. Check it out at ToysRUs.com.

As soon as the news broke that Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi were part of the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line, most collectors wanted to know how they differed from past versions. With thanks to Hasbro and Litzky PR for providing us this sample, we’re able to give you some details. The review will be coming in the near future, but here are the nuts and bolts: Yoda comes with eight points of articulation. The shoulders are ball-jointed, the head is a reverse ball-socket joint and his ankles come with standard ball-socket articulation. He also comes with a swivel waist. What he doesn’t come with are two separately moving legs. There are no hip joints and his lower body is one chunk of plastic. His likeness is excellent. His coloring is OK. And his accessories are based on his appearance from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. There are rumors that he is to make an appearance in Episode VIII, so this action figure seems to help add more fuel to that fire. Check out our rough early RDR page by clicking the image below.

Somehow, someway, my orders from HasbroToyShop.com always come the very next day even though I choose the cheapest, standard shipping. Obviously, it’s due to my proximity to them in Jonestown, PA, but I was also impressed with how well they actually packed them this time around. I typically NEVER get any packing materials in my shipments, but this time they came nicely packed. Be on the look out for yours soon!
