Just in case you have not checked out Steve Evans’ latest The Vintage Collection checklist, he’s added all of the latest announcements. The previously skipped VC271 will be the single-carded Dark Trooper release. Head over to check out all the latest additions.

Steve Evans (AKA Mr. Stevie) has added some more checklist files to his site, this time featuring all The Vintage Collection carded and boxed sets to date. His checklists have also revealed a few things for upcoming figures:

• 8D8 will be VC325
• The Salacious Crumb reissue will be VC66A (to help distinguish it from the original release VC66)
• The Ghost Haslab figures will continue the HAS### numbering:
  • HAS003 Hera Syndulla
  • HAS004 Ezra Bridger
  • HAS005 Kanan Jarrus
  • HAS006 Garabzeb “Zeb” Orrelios

I’ll just leave this right here. It seems fitting after today’s 2019 SDCC Hasbro presentation which may go down in history as the most-disappointing ever. Special thanks to Thomas for the graphics work.

StarWars.com reveals that Hasbro’s Sarah Carroll is the next Senior Brand Marketing Manager of Star Wars at Hasbro. Whether or not Ms. Carroll is a direct replacement for Steve Evans is just speculation to be clear.

Update 2: Steve Evans remarked in a Vintage Collection Facebook group that Sarah Carroll will NOT be involved with design, she will be responsible for marketing only! So she’s not a replacement for Steve!

Steve Evans will no longer be on Hasbro’s Star Wars team. He has taken on a new position at Hasbro as Creative Director, Consumer Products. Steve posted this on his Instagram:

To say I have loved every single minute working on Star Wars for the past 5 years would be a massive Death Star-sized understatement. But I have recently decided to take on a new role at Hasbro as Creative Director, Consumer Products. Which means I will now be spending my days with Optimus Prime, Applejack and other new friends. I feel it important to take a moment here to say THANK YOU to all of you. It truly has been an honor to be part of this incredible community, and I will forever look back at this chapter of my career with the utmost pride and fondness. It truly has been a childhood dream come true for me to be part of Star Wars toys, but I am excited for this new opportunity ahead! So… Until we meet again. MTFBWY

Good luck, Steve, and have fun with Optimus Prime and all the other new friends! It’s not known yet who will replace him on the Star Wars team.

JTA reader Kieran C. had the opportunity to talk to Steve Evans at NYCC. He wanted to know if Disney’s royalty fees might prevent Hasbro from doing more TVC figures. It has been speculated that production costs for TVC and the Black Series might basically be the same but that TVC has smaller margins, which results in fewer new figures for the line. Steve Evans’ answer however paints a somewhat different picture. Click through for what he said!

Well, it’s official. Collectors are Jabba The Hutt and Steve Evans and Hasbro are Boushh (in a powerfully descriptive metaphor). As collectors try to suggest to Hasbro that 2500 backers are good enough for Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) instead of the full goal required, Steve Evans from Hasbro makes it painfully clear in our comments that Hasbro needs 5000 backers, no less. As we continue to wish, hope and fantasize that this thing is coming despite this fact, maybe we can eventually both agree that 3500 is the most fair number here. (There we go fantasizing again.) In the meantime #backthebarge people. This is serious now, folks. #backthebarge!

This question came up a few times in various comments on Social Media. Will I be able to attach the cool deck cannon accessory that came with Nikto Gunner (BD23) and Vizam (TBS #17) to the rails of the sail barge? We asked Steve Evans directly in the comments section on one of our Instagram posts. The short answer? No. Here’s what he had to say…

The thickness of the deck railings weren’t thin enough to take the clip. But…. I’m seeing what we can do about it. One of the small benefits of Sharing with the fans at the beginning of the development process. No promises tho.

So, as of right now, you will just have to attach those cannons to your skiffs! And, I guess we won’t know if any changes are made to accommodate this on the barge itself until you BACK THE BARGE! You can view our full Instagram post here. 

Steve Evans, and Hasbro. We think it’s great that you’re soliciting Instagram advice for The Vintage Conversation. Just keep in mind that there is a huge population of old people that don’t even know what Instagram is and a LOT of Instagram people think you’re asking questions for 6″ stuff (as well as asking for stuff that’s already been produced). Heck, I STILL feel dirty creating an account. Anyway, we thought this was worthy of front page news to get your attention. When it comes to playset ideas, you needn’t look further than Kenner’s Micro Collection of stunning and beautiful playsets for inspirations. If you make all four of these (three were produced, and one died on the concept/development table) in 3.75″ scale for The Vintage Collection, you will probably be hailed in a way that you possibly just cannot comprehend right now. This is how we need playsets to be: interactive, connecting and beautiful. The Kenner Micro Collection had the right approach, just the wrong size. Just make them extra “purty” with today’s technology, change a few things up and make TVC collectors elated with joy. Make it happen, please!

We are honored to have teamed up with our good friend, the illustrious Victoria from Victoria’s Cantina, this year to conduct our Hasbro Q&A during San Diego Comic Con. We also entered the current century because the Q&A is in the form of a video. This time YOU get to see the wry smiles and illuminating expressions on the Hasbro Team’s faces. While we focused our efforts on learning as much as we could about The Vintage Collection, there is plenty of stuff here on The Black Series 6″ line and 5POA as well. Reissue older 6″ figures?
