TSC–Wave 1 – Battle of Carkoon
#004 Barada (Skiff Guard):

I wasn't excited when I heard this was a choice for this wave. Especially when I heard it wasn't going to sport new articulation or a new sculpt.

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
This is a decent head sculpt but not truly inspired. It certainly passes for the character so I won't give it low marks, but some more detail and a better paint job might have pushed this to the next level.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Articulation:
This articulation is AWESOME...for 1997 that is. Standard articulation for a figure of that time frame, it doesn't hold up to today's standards.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Paint Application:
Only a slight improvement, the paint application leaves a little to be desire. Though to be fair, there isn't much to this character anyway.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall sculpt:
This is a reissue of the previous Barada from several years ago. While the sculpt sufficed back then, I would have liked to have seen more detail in the clothing. The head is a good likeness though.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Accessories:
A blaster and a stand. That's it. Not too much to comment on here. The addition of some of the other skiff guard weapons would have helped here so that we felt like we were getting something better than the previous version.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Customization possibilities:
Not too much here to custom. A paint job might bring new life to this character, otherwise the poor sculpt and lack of articulation make this a bad choice for customs.
Rating 1.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Playability:
A subpar figure in an advanced line, this figure does not offer much in the way of playability. Ten year ago it would have been the norm, but it just doesn't hold up to today's standards.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall Score:
Did we really NEED this figure? No. Basically an exact reissue this figure lacks in every area. If you have the previous version or the one that came in the multi pack not so long ago, you can pass on this one.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Respectfully submitted
