TSC–Wave 1 – Battle of Carkoon
#002 Han Solo:

When I first heard of this one, I sighed in disgust. Here I thought it would be just another carbon block Han, but I was mildly surprised at the outcome.

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
This is actually pretty good, though he does seem to have a slight dumbfounded look about him. The hard cut to the jaw line (for the ball joint) detracts a little and in my opinion is best served for Helmeted figures and not human/ alien figs.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Articulation:
Not great so if you are looking for an SA version of this figure, keep looking and waiting. The points of articulation are as follows:

  • Ball joint head
  • Swivel joint shoulders
  • Swivel elbows
  • Swivel wrists
  • Swivel waist
  • Hinged hips
Not great but not too bad. Compared to the standard we saw for most of the ROTS line though, this fig is sub par.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

    Paint Application:
There isn't much to paint here, but I do dig the dirty shirt. It give it a more lived in kinda feel.
Rating 3.0 out of 5 Holocrons

    Overall sculpt:
Meh, rather simple and uninspired. Maybe Hasbro sculptors are getting tired of doing this figure too.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

    Accessories:
This is the area where buying this figure is worth it. Now the little number on the staff aside (which has been rumored to be anywhere from 1-7), the Carbonite block is outstanding, even in it’s simplicity. Finally we have a Carbonite warming block that Han appears to be emerging from. Add to that the character specific stand and you've got some neat accessories.
Rating 3.5 out of 5 Holocrons

    Customization possibilities:
Well, maybe you can make a generic Corellian out of this fig, but the lack of articulation really doesn't lend itself to customization.
Rating 1.0 out of 5 Holocrons

    Playability:
This one is not much to write home about. You can't really play with the block which is the only redeeming thing about this figure so it’s bad marks for Han here.
Rating 1.5 out of 5 Holocrons

    Overall Score:
A meh figure but an excellent transitional Carbonite block. If you already have a previous version, you can pass on him. However if you really want that new Carbonite block...and you know you do, get him.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

    Respectfully submitted
