UK readers: RIGHT NOW you can order the newly revealed Talking Star Wars figures at disneystore.co.uk!. In stock are Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. JTA reader zx_spectrum_30 has successfully pre-ordered the Stormtrooper and per the order will ship in 5 days! Place your orders now, especially since these will see limited distribution as confirmed by our report!

We are receiving conflicting reports about the UK Disney Store report we posted HERE. We have now received word that other stores outside of Central London will indeed be getting the merchandise as well. We will have to wait for more confirmation, but for the time being, take the original report with a grain of salt. This is great news for those who live outside of central London.

UPDATE: [THIS IS FROM A SOURCE WITH DIRECT ACCESS TO DISNEY REPS.] OK - just got clarity on the Talking Figures at Disney - on the phone as I type. They will initially only be available in the larger Disney Stores across Europe. If they sell well then Disney will look again. So stores such as the bigger ones in Manchester and Liverpool will see the figures but smaller stores won't.

It looks like our original report was accurate, folks.

Listen up readers from the UK! We have just received word from JTA reader zx_spectrum_30 that the newly revealed talking Star Wars figures (which range between 12" and 15" by the way) will ONLY be available at three (3) central London Disney Store locations..

UPDATE: While a few stores outside Central London will receive these figures, Disney is test-marketing them in the larger stores only first. If they do well then they will ship them out to the smaller stores.

Our friends at Yakface.com are releasing additional new information on the Disney Store VIP event in California. Just announced: a new scale of Disney Store exclusive TALKING articulated figures FOR $29.95 each. The scale is a bit murky at the moment, but they look closer to 12" scale. Check out the awesome Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Luke X-wing Pilot, and I don't know how you feel, but the Han Solo looks freaking fantastic. See them as well as a ton of other Disney Store exclusives right now!

UPDATE 1: JTA reader Johnny W.O. writes in our comments that he read these figures are 18" per a Disney-themed website. Holy moly!

UPDATE 2: It has been confirmed that these figures range from 12" to 15".

We Interrupt Our Daily News....

Posted by Paul | April 01, 2014 at 09:46 AM EDT |

Happy 64th Wedding Anniversary to my grandparents, Mom-mom & Pop-pop Harrison. I love you both and I am so fortunate and grateful that you're still here with your family on Earth! May the Force continue to be with you!

We have received both posted comments and emails from readers asking about why we don't have forums. What may be embarrassing about these questions is that, in all actuality, we do have forums. The link for them can be found HERE. Sadly, it has been our recent position that forums are a dying breed. And often a lot of what gets posted in them is hostile, angry and generally negative. As we try to keep JTA an upbeat site (save for any conversations that surround the dreaded 5POA figures), you can understand why we have shied away from such a format. Before we promise anything (like revamping/restarting them), we would like to elicit your opinions on how you'd feel if JTA would start them up in a consistent manner. Would you join/become a member? Would you post consistently? Would you possibly be interested in moderating for us? (Because Chuck and I will have no time to stay on top of that.) We feel we have the strongest audience to date and it may be a good time to reconsider this option. There are some incredible forums already out there, and we're not looking to steal business. Many Star Wars fan sites have their niche, and in the past, clearly ours was NOT forums. Anyway, let us know how you feel about this. We don't want to take traffic away from our comments, but if we develop strong forums, maybe that won't matter at all. Let us know!

Last Dance For Billy Dee Williams?

Posted by Paul | March 17, 2014 at 08:56 PM EDT |

Did everyone catch Billy Dee Williams on Dancing With The Stars tonight? He came out clothed in a costume that looked just like Lando Calrissian's outfit and the number had guest appearances of dancing Stormtroopers, R2-D2 and two cheering Ewoks. He danced to a disco version of the Star Wars Theme and Cantina Band #1. Sadly, he was gently heckled by the judges. How long will he last? Only time will tell. (We believe he will be voted off next week sadly.)

Jedi Temple Archives Are Now Open

Posted by Chuck | March 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM EDT |

Ten years ago today that was JTA's first headline and kicked off our coverage of the Star Wars Universe! At 11AM on March 14th, 2004 Jedi Temple Archives officially opened our virtual doors. Since then we've grown more than we could have ever imagined. A big thanks goes out to all of our readers, sponsors, and staff past and present who keep coming back and who keep us motivated! How fitting that the day before our tenth anniversary we break the 100K mark on Alexa.com's web site ranking. This marks our 13,294th story on our front page... that's an average of over 3.5 stories a day for ten years! It's hard to believe that when we posted that first story that we would ever make it this far. Thanks again everyone!

Jedi Temple Archives Breaks 100K On Alexa!

Posted by Paul | March 13, 2014 at 08:54 AM EDT |

Jedi Temple Archives has, for the first time ever, reached a goal today that we are thrilled to share with you. Because of you, our zealously awesome readership, we have broken the 100K mark at Alexa.com. Alexa ranks over 200 million sites against each other. Per Alexa, "The global traffic rank is a measure of how a website is doing relative to all other sites on the web over the past 3 months." While this can certainly change in the future, we wanted to document that the goal was indeed reached. Again, thanks needs to go out to all of you because without you this wouldn't have been possible. While some others may rely on falsifying stats like buying YouTube views, Facebook likes or Twitter followers, that's just something we cannot do. Thank you for your support and we are honored that you rely on us for the latest Star Wars news, reviews and other Star Wars information.

Christopher Malcolm Dead At 67

Posted by Paul | February 19, 2014 at 08:06 PM EDT |

It is with great sadness we post this, but the man who played Zev Senesca, Christopher Malcom, has passed away. We were surprised to learn he had a role in The Rocky Horror Show as well. TMZ.com has full details. Special thanks to Buried Egg for reminding us to post this to our home page. We had posted this earlier to our Facebook page the day of his death.

Mattel To Pick Up Star Wars License For Hot Wheels?

Posted by Paul | February 18, 2014 at 11:55 AM EDT |

What? A logo that isn't Hasbro? Whatever could that mean? We have just learned that Mattel may have some Star Wars themed Hot Wheels items in the works and the debut could come in the form of a SDCC exclusive later this year. Stay tuned as we hopefully learn more soon!

Medicom Toy To Produce Star Wars 6-inch Line Too?

Posted by Paul | February 10, 2014 at 05:49 PM EDT |

Our friends at Yakface.com have directed their readers to a fascinating bit of cool news at ImperialHolocron.com which alerts readers that Medicom Toy is now producing its own 6" figure line. And one of its licenses is Star Wars. If this comes to pass, you can probably kiss Hasbro's 6" TBS line goodbye, unless the MSRP on the Medicom Toy line just scares everyone away. BUT. Medicom Toy will be producing unprecedented quality 6" action figures as evidenced by their one-sixth scale line. It's too early for full details yet, but click through to check out the teaser image!

A Quick Snippet On Darth Plagueis

Posted by Paul | February 08, 2014 at 07:49 AM EDT |

It goes without saying that many if not most Star Wars collectors are buying the Darth Plagueis action figure without knowing pretty much anything about him. Our friend Scott put together a YoutTube snippet from the audio book which should give you a pretty good character overview that shows is not only evil in nature, but also completely haunting. It's worth the four minutes of your time. Plus, you'll hear the correct pronunciations for many of the words we're all mispronouncing. Click through for more.

Uh-oh. There is no way this is going to make all Star Wars fans happy, is it? Lucasfilm gets its Star Wars stories straight! There have been plenty of new reports already discrediting this, so be mindful of what you read. JTA is only directing yout to these articles. We have no idea what the truth is at this point. Buyer beware. Click through for more. Yahoo news has the story.
