In ONE HOUR we learn what beloved character(s) die(s) at the hand of Negan's Lucille. Yeah, this isn't Star Wars, but since The Walking Dead is the greatest show there ever was on television, we're making an exception. Leave your thoughts and predictions in the comments, and when the horror is revealed when Season 7 goes live at 9 PM ET, be sure to leave your feelings in our comments as well. For those of you not in the USA or in a different time zone, please stay away. This will NOT be spoiler free.

Maybe "Star Wars" just shouldn't be called "Star Wars" anymore. Let's call it "Star Love" or something similar. A bizarre article has shown up online criticizing Disney for making a Death Trooper Halloween costume. You have to read this hilarity folks.
We're not sure how new this is, but JTA reader Heather saw a Hot Wheels Star Wars collection at her local Costco yesterday. if anyone has any additional information on this, please post the details ion our comments. Thanks! Sadly, we don't follow these too closely.

So, that $300 Star Wars vehicle? JTA reader Gary H. has more info on it. It is an RC Millennium Falcon. Move along, move along! Are all of these licensees just DESIGNING things for the clearance rack anymore?
We have received details for Toys R Us' Midnight Madness in the UK. Click through for more!
This conversation has come up more times than I can count here at JTA, but now ProPublica.org has decided to write about it. They state "Amazon bills itself as “Earth’s most customer-centric company.” Yet its algorithm is hiding the best deal from many customers." (more....) Special thanks to JTA Facebook friend Jeff L. for alerting us to this article!

Although the news is out in the "real world," we've been reluctant to post this development because of the reactions to past similar articles we posted, like when we "unnecessarily panicked the Star Wars collecting community and made a story out of nothing" regarding the launch of Rebels wave 1 figures (also known as Rebelsgate). That was a direct quote on our Twitter page by the way. Spoiler alert: the Rebels wave 1 stuff, aside from a few initial shipments, never came. Now a new shipping dilemma has arisen it seems, just in time for the launch of Rogue Friday (hopefully most of the products are currently in back rooms – but who knows how it wil affect future waves if at all). Hanjin Shipping, a commercial shipping/freighter source from Asia (Korea) that the US relies on, has gone belly up. Not only has their services ceased, but their shipments including food and other commodities are just floating on the water and blocking other incoming freighters from entering the ports in the USA. While they are sourced from Korea, they are adding a crazy bottleneck for other vendors' goods. Could we see a repeat of Rebelsgate? Whats more, experts are assuming this will have a major impact on the cost of the those goods we seek. Reuters has the full story.

If you haven't checked it out yet, TARGET also has a dedicated page for all of the new pre-orders. Make sure to stop by and see what they have to offer when you do your Rogue One shopping. Thanks to all the readers who wrote in to let us know about this one.
Disney has begun a Go Rogue campaign and the official Star Wars You Tube channel released a stop motion animation video combining MULTIPLE licensees altogether including newly revealed toys. It's pretty cool. Check out Chapter 1!
Site lacitedesnuages.be has posted an image of the upcoming cool-looking Jakks Pacific K-2SO figure. This was revealed at one point, but it's back online. Check it out before it gets pulled! Special thanks to JTA reader Brian D. for the alert!

Riverspoon Studios has designed beautiful custom vintage inspired Star Wars Funko Pop! boxes because, well, Star Wars merchandise doesn't look better in anything else obviously. And now I want these for my own collection. Hasbro, Funko, Gentle Giant, Disney and every other Star Wars license: please pay attention. Don't squander 2017. It's the 40th anniversary of the movie that started it all. And there won't be a better time to grab all of the collectors that you've lost. So this means it MUST be the year for vintage-inspired Kenner packaging. It's the ONLY thing that will guarantee you massive sales in 2017. Please make it happen! Let's see TVC return, let's see The Black Series 6" line in miniature Large Size Action Figure boxed and let's see Funko do this to the Pops! line. And let's see a whole bunch more things like this happen! Special thanks to friend Allen S. for alerting me to this beautiful mess.
The affable and beloved Star Wars star Kenny Baker has passed away. As if he needs any introduction, he is the man responsible for bringing R2-D2 to life! IGN has the story.
UPDATE: IMDb has reported that Kenny Baker was just 11 days shy of his 82nd birthday, so he actually passed away at age 81.

I will be at The Strong Museum of Play tomorrow (Friday) in Rochester NY at opening 10AM to check out their awesome Star Wars exhibit with my family. They're featuring The Ultimate Action Figure Collection as part of the exhibit, so of course I have to go check it out. If there are any local readers, please come out as I will have our popular vintage Kenner posters to give away and it will be fantastic to meet more of you. (I will be the tallest guy there probably.) Now if I can just figure out "where's Dan Curto" up there I will be all set.

The Sinister Six Bounty Hunters Collective meeting was a blast. I met a fantastic group of guys last night and we're excited for the future of the group. Once again if you're in the Bucks County/Northeast Philly area, please come out. I will be announcing future meetings on our front page, but you can also follow this group on Facebook HERE! I brought JTA's Celebration Exclusive Series 1 trading card set and the Vintage Kenner poster as giveaways for this get together. As always, bmales01: you're not invited.

It has been one year today since I lost my friend Mark Grimshaw to cancer. Although a friend, he also was an avid Star Wars collector as well as a fixture here at Jedi Temple Archives (as studlydudly) in the comments. He also spent a significant amount of time at our colleagues' sites Yakface.com and BanthaSkull.com. He thoroughly enjoyed the hobby. Mark's caregiver John T. reached out to me to see if I would share what he had made with some of Mark's remaining t-shirts that he found. He had them made into two quilts and then gifted them to Mark's parents. You can look at them by clicking the thumbnails below.

Say goodbye to the old-fashioned MSRP folks! We've already begun seeing signs of this. The New York Times has just released an article exposing Amazon and the new direction they're taking with pricing merchandise. Simply put "There is just one price. Take it or leave it." The article goes on to explain that they're quietly eliminating "list" pricing and that you can expect top pay for whatever the average market is willing to pay for an item. It's nice to see how much power the "impatient and need to be instantly gratified" have on the rest of us. Or perhaps this is just the definition of corporate greed. Whatever. Check it out and decide for yourself. Special thanks to Ayem Mayem for the link.
If you recall, we posted news of a pretty massive Estate Sale where plenty of Star Wars merchandise could be secured by collectors for "cheap". Well, JTA reader Jeffrey S. heeded our post and went to the event where he scored pretty awesomely. Click through for his report!!
"We both loved Star Wars, it was really just a part of our lives. We'd watch reviews and talk about it. We would listen to the sound track in the car." Their love for Star Wars movies was a bond that kept them inseparable for six years, even after Yehl moved from Orlando to Los Angeles. And it was a bond that suddenly ended when Leinonen was killed alongside 48 others in the Pulse Nightclub massacre in Orlando. (more....)

Entertainment Earth has revealed a vac-metallized Jakks Pacific 18" C-3PO figure for SDCC. I guess Jakks doesn't care about the environment like Hasbro does.

Jedi Temple Archives wishes all of our fathers a very happy Father's Day! In a world where your invaluable role can be minimized, diminished and even overlooked, we want you to know just how important you are in the raising and development of your children. Give yourself a few extra points if you use Star Wars as a part of that rearing too. Happy Father's Day! As a tribute, we're sharing an image drawn by a son of one of our readers. Click the image below for the full size and be sure to read the description below.
About the drawing: JTA reader Michael Osadciw's son made the above sketch for him for Father’s Day at school. His son explained to him what everything in the picture was so Michael thought it would be fun to share with the readers in our community by identifying them for us. Michael Osadciw can be found at http://www.michaelosadciw.com/.

An image is floating around Facebook of roughly 6" sized Star Wars figures made with 5POA. We wonder if this is the latest market shift for 6" scaled figures, or at the very least will influence it. It seems to becoming more and more prevalent. Anyway, as soon as we learn more we're pass it along.
UPDATE: We have learned these are Bandai products.
