If you are still looking for the Toys R Us exclusive Hovertank Pilot it might be time for another check. JTA reader Mark's local Toys R Us in Frisco, TX had a squadren of them on the shelf... Thanks for the store report Mark! And making us all feel bad that our Toys R Us shelves don't look like this! Now if we can just get Walmart to start putting out that Scarif Stormtrooper!

As we wait for more contrarians to say that these signs ALSO aren't for the products underneath of them, we have a report from JTA reader Damian V. that more Rogue One and Pop! clearances have been spotted.

JTA reader Tommy W. has been so frustrated lately looking for new Star Wars stuff, especially the TRU exclusive Imperial Hovertank Pilot. After calling incessantly for weeks and still being told no, he went to his nearest store (far away from his home) and found a nice chunk of stuff we needed. Don't give up the fight like we have folks. It may just arrive one day!

A The Black Series 6" group on Socialite Media has reported that the C-3PO Walgreens exclusive figure has arrived. There aren't any other confirmed reports yet, but it looks as if it's about to hit soon, both brick and mortar and online!

UPDATE: We have new reports from Boston MA, Long Island NY, PA and Michigan.
JTA reader Toyfiend from Instagram (what is that?) sends us images of the latest The Black Series [Phase III] figures which arrived to his store. It looks like they're on their way now! Keep a look out folks!

For those of you who missed out on the Imperial Hovertank Pilot Toys R Us exclusives (a very fine figure if I must say so myself), it is showing up in stores once again. JTA reader Mark from Frisco TX found them today!

I just got from a much-needed vacation and I feel like "disqusing" something controversial. For collectors that have been collecting the modern Hasbro stuff since 1995, nothing is more grating to our ears than newbie collectors telling us what the collecting community wants and how 6" is "where it's at...." I have digressed already. I didn't mean to go for the jugular right away. Images have been circling around aSocial Media like this one showing that BRAND NEW figures are marked down to $5 a piece. This couldn't be more of a loss to Walmart (in this case). 3.75" super-articulated figures would be nowhere found for the Rogue One launch. Heck, 3.75" super-articulated figures never got anywhere this cheap YEARS after they hung on pegs! When you see prices like $14.99 dancing around, sure, that's competition to have the lowest price. When you see $5, it means total failure (at that particular store and maybe more) or that this line just isn't what people think it is. Let the trolling begin!
JTA reader Adam sends us an image of a Walmart Rollback for the Imperial TIE Striker. While it's possible (and likely) that markdowns like this are all part of the retail scheme, it shows us one thing in particular: these new ships are too dang expensive. Even this price is too expensive for our tastes.

Constable Zuvio makes a return to retail (or maybe he just never left). See what's wrong in the picture below. Oh, and apologies in advance for this hate-filled post I created! (Special thanks to JTA reader Vince W. for the image!)
JTA reader Derek found this new Galactic Heroes two-pack at TARGET. He expressed that in typical Hasbro fashion this item is two years too late as The Inquisitor died at the end of season 1. Since season 3 just started, we wonder if this was the best choice for a kids' toy. And does a release like this build a new generation of young customers for Hasbro?

JTA reader and good friend Chris S. sends an image of what his local Walmart looks like. His Walmart didn't put anything out on Rogue Friday, and then put out this self-shipper loaded with product a couple of days late. A grand total of four figures have sold from this display (and he lives outside of a major city). Chris is convinced that this perceived pile-up wouldn't had happened at all if these figures were super-articulated 3.75" figures. Obviously this is one instance, but what are you seeing in your area? I can't comment as I see nothing in the Philly area except for a couple of TARGET stores, and they're only loaded up with six different 5POA figures. And three of my local TRU stores are frustrated because they haven't received anything substantial in their stores yet. Is it too soon to comment about a potential lackluster performance of the Rogue One products? Is it flying out of stores where you live? Is TBS6 performing well in your area? Are people waiting for this film this time?

Close personal friend and JTA reader Chris S. was so browbeaten by the tone of so many conversations in our article surrounding back-door early purchases of Rogue One products that he's been inspired to follow suit. He writes "I'm going to bring two Hot Wheels cars up to the self check out to buy these (shown in image below). #BetterThanAScalperGettingThem".

A Walmart store in Florida essentially just said "Screw it!" when it came to selling Rogue One action figures before the street date. Check out JTA reader Paul G.'s experience by clicking through. Hey Walmart, if you don't start towing the line, Hasbro may give you the silent treatment! Or, let's just make this easier. Get rid of street dates.

JTA Facebook reader Michael C sends us a rather hysterical image: brand-spanking new Rogue One products in the clearance section at Walmart (and to think this retailer has possession of our beloved super-articulated 3.75" line exclusivity – frightening). But here is another reason why street dates are completely unnecessary!
JTA reader Richard R. has found a few Rogue One figures and spent some time checking out the interchangeability with The Force Awakens action figures as well as details about the quality of Jyn Erso. Check out his report.
JTA Facebook friend Paul C. has eagerly found the first wave of Rogue One 3.75" figures are his local Fred Meyer in Portland OR. AT this rate it seems that quite a few people are going to have the whole Rogue One collection before we even reach the street date.

Images are circulating on various social media outlets that wave 1 of the Rogue One TBS6 figures are being purchased in states from Texas to California in Walmart. Keep your eyes open folks!!
UPDATE: Source of image is from the The Imperial Commissary 2 New STar Wars Toys 1986 - TFA Facebook page

It looks like the TBS6 Constable Zuvio has hit an all-time low (as well as other TFA products). He is still hanging on the pegs for less than $6 now. Any takers? Special thanks to JTA reader Bryan L. for the image.

Longtime JTA reader icatch9 has found something surprising at his local Meijer in Illinois today. The BB-8 and R2-D2 big Jakks Pacific figures arrived, and then the "shampoo bottle" single versions of BB-8 and R2-D2 in Hasbro's line. Although nothing new, these single-packed figure were SUPPOSED to pre-date the TARGET exclusive three-pack (but we know how lovely distribution is these days). Nothing like new merchandise arriving as stores are clearancing out The Force Awakens stuff to prepare for Rogue One! Gotta love it!

Stake it UK! (How many of you get that reference?) In this case it should be Asty UK! From what we've heard, the Hux/Asty wave has been a burden for UK collectors as well. JTA reader Xo-Tica eagerly sends us a report that he just found Asty at Check out the latest from Forbidden Planet. Click through for his report.

File this under the X-Files perhaps. Elaborate hoax or legitimate lost case of action figures? JTA reader John W. just got back from ROSS where he found a mint case assortment's worth of 20 year old Shadows Of The Empire action figures. Let's flashback to 1996 people! Where's the Dolorean?
Posted by Paul | August 04, 2016 at 01:04 PM ET |
Well isn't this just grand? First Walmart, now TARGET. This TARGET store (San Antonio TX) has put The Black Series 6" line on clearance. We wonder what this will mean for Fall Rogue One products later in the year. Supposedly the same assortment number is being used for new TBS6 figures, so will they (A) never make it to stores because of the backlog or (B) will we all find them for clearance prices? Only time will tell!! Special thanks to JTA reader Bryan for the news!

A Spaniard walks into a Baton Rouge Toys R Us.... sounds like a bad joke, doesn't it? But it's true! JTA reader Javier F. D. was on a business trip to Louisiana from Spain and found the Toys R Us exclusive Astromech Droid 3-Pack for sale on the shelf.... $54.99. They've officially hit the USA!
JTA reader Erik T. sends us a report that the Legendary Yoda electronic figure which had an MSRP of $149.99 can now be found at select Walmarts for a mere $15. proof attached. This store is in Northern California.

JTA reader and friend Martin M. has found the Takodana Encounter set on clearance. Click through for his report.
So, we know from conversations at SDCC that Hasbro is well aware of distribution issues. But we want to know what they are going to do about it. The image below accurately illustrates the state of what so many stores look like right now, and now that we know the line look isn't changing, it's unlikely the assortment numbers will change either. If assortment numbers don't change, then this means that new products will be instantly blocked until this old product moves out. Do you see the awful vicious cycle folks? Anyone? Anyone?

JTA UK reader James W. sends us news that Smyth's stores have marked down their TFA 3.75" figures down to £2.99. There are also some great deals on The Black Series figures too! We thought our UK readers would like to know.

Our friends at Yakface.com are reporting that the SDCC TRU exclusive TBS6 Astromech 3-Pack has been found in Canada. This may or may not mean that they'll hit the USA shortly. Check out their report!!
