Close personal friend and JTA reader Chris S. was so browbeaten by the tone of so many conversations in our article surrounding back-door early purchases of Rogue One products that he's been inspired to follow suit. He writes "I'm going to bring two Hot Wheels cars up to the self check out to buy these (shown in image below). #BetterThanAScalperGettingThem".

A Walmart store in Florida essentially just said "Screw it!" when it came to selling Rogue One action figures before the street date. Check out JTA reader Paul G.'s experience by clicking through. Hey Walmart, if you don't start towing the line, Hasbro may give you the silent treatment! Or, let's just make this easier. Get rid of street dates.

Brand New Rogue One Two-Packs End Up In Walmart Clearance Aisle

Posted by Paul | September 20, 2016 at 08:13 PM ET |

JTA Facebook reader Michael C sends us a rather hysterical image: brand-spanking new Rogue One products in the clearance section at Walmart (and to think this retailer has possession of our beloved super-articulated 3.75" line exclusivity – frightening). But here is another reason why street dates are completely unnecessary!

Images are circulating on various social media outlets that wave 1 of the Rogue One TBS6 figures are being purchased in states from Texas to California in Walmart. Keep your eyes open folks!!

UPDATE: Source of image is from the The Imperial Commissary 2 New STar Wars Toys 1986 - TFA Facebook page

TBS6 Constable Zuvio Cheaper Than 5POA Figures Now

Posted by Paul | September 08, 2016 at 10:43 PM ET |

It looks like the TBS6 Constable Zuvio has hit an all-time low (as well as other TFA products). He is still hanging on the pegs for less than $6 now. Any takers? Special thanks to JTA reader Bryan L. for the image.

Longtime JTA reader icatch9 has found something surprising at his local Meijer in Illinois today. The BB-8 and R2-D2 big Jakks Pacific figures arrived, and then the "shampoo bottle" single versions of BB-8 and R2-D2 in Hasbro's line. Although nothing new, these single-packed figure were SUPPOSED to pre-date the TARGET exclusive three-pack (but we know how lovely distribution is these days). Nothing like new merchandise arriving as stores are clearancing out The Force Awakens stuff to prepare for Rogue One! Gotta love it!

Posted by Paul | August 17, 2016 at 01:22 PM ET |

Stake it UK! (How many of you get that reference?) In this case it should be Asty UK! From what we've heard, the Hux/Asty wave has been a burden for UK collectors as well. JTA reader Xo-Tica eagerly sends us a report that he just found Asty at Check out the latest from Forbidden Planet. Click through for his report.

We're Gonna Party Like It's 1996!

Posted by Paul | August 10, 2016 at 06:18 PM ET |

File this under the X-Files perhaps. Elaborate hoax or legitimate lost case of action figures? JTA reader John W. just got back from ROSS where he found a mint case assortment's worth of 20 year old Shadows Of The Empire action figures. Let's flashback to 1996 people! Where's the Dolorean?

TARGET Begins To Clearance Out TBS6 Line. What Will This Mean?

Posted by Paul | August 04, 2016 at 01:04 PM ET |

Well isn't this just grand? First Walmart, now TARGET. This TARGET store (San Antonio TX) has put The Black Series 6" line on clearance. We wonder what this will mean for Fall Rogue One products later in the year. Supposedly the same assortment number is being used for new TBS6 figures, so will they (A) never make it to stores because of the backlog or (B) will we all find them for clearance prices? Only time will tell!! Special thanks to JTA reader Bryan for the news!

Found! TRU Exclusive Astromech 3-Pack Arrives In Louisiana!

Posted by Paul | July 30, 2016 at 11:13 AM ET |

One Little Two Little Three Little Zuvios....

Posted by Paul | July 26, 2016 at 09:18 AM ET |

You think you have it bad when it come to Zuvio? In Hamleys in London, there are 55 Constable Zuvio 3.75" figures and they are £15 each (that's $19.69 American dollars).

Is Constable Zuvio The "TPM 3D" Of 2015?

Posted by Paul | July 25, 2016 at 05:21 PM ET |

So, we know from conversations at SDCC that Hasbro is well aware of distribution issues. But we want to know what they are going to do about it. The image below accurately illustrates the state of what so many stores look like right now, and now that we know the line look isn't changing, it's unlikely the assortment numbers will change either. If assortment numbers don't change, then this means that new products will be instantly blocked until this old product moves out. Do you see the awful vicious cycle folks? Anyone? Anyone?

Posted by Paul | July 15, 2016 at 09:51 AM ET |

Hopefully this will serve as a great deterrent to the unscrupulous "collectors" stealing right out from under Walmart and other stores. JTA reader Trovovo has sent us in images of a Walmart camera system JUST in the Star Wars action figure aisle at his local Walmart. Click through for more

Another Hong Kong Store Report: TRU/SDCC Astromech Set

Posted by Paul | June 21, 2016 at 09:03 AM ET |

No, we're not reporting a Furbacca find in Hong Kong. But JTA reader Chris G. is on business there and found the TRU/SDCC exclusive for sale. Check it out!

We have more images to share of the Toys R Us/SDCC exclusive Astromech Droid 3-pack. Yes it does look like a SDCC exclusive to us now as evidenced by the signage. For those interested in approximating what this may cost int he USA, JTA Filipino reader Jones M. lets us know that the exchange rate is roughly PHP46.00 to USD1.00. In this case, that means this would cost 108.69 in American dollars in the Philippines. We estimate it will be significantly cheaper than this in the USA (hopefully).

The Hero Series scaled Captain Phasma figure (which actually isn't a bad toy at all) has been found in New Zealand. JTA reader Andy M. has the full story that you're probably going to want to read especially if you live there (especially since this thing was going for big bucks because of its relative scarcity).

TBS 3.75-inch Figures Found At ROSS For "Over 40%" Off

Posted by Paul | June 14, 2016 at 01:23 PM ET |

JTA reader Michael W. has found a 3.75" The Black Series [Phase II] figure at his local ROSS store. The kicker? ROSS claims the normal MSRP of this line is $17.00 and has put it on sale for $9.99.

Darth Sidious (CW45) Found At Retail ON SALE 30% Off!

Posted by Paul | June 10, 2016 at 08:22 PM ET |

It's 2016 and the impossible to find The Clone Wars Darth Sidious (CW45) figure has been found on sale at retail. (more....)

Distribution is in utter disrepair. Check. New items arriving that no one or very few collectors knew were coming. Check. Wrong focus on products to come to retail for a market willing to spend money on the stuff we want. Check. Why must the Star Wars line continue on this path? JTA reader fearxforthebest, while desperately looking for the final TBS (Phase III – red and black packaging is all I mean) Walmart exclusive 3.75" TBS figures (and totally unable to find them), came across "new" 12-Inch Figures. WE had no idea these were even coming (or at least we forgot they were coming if we reported they were coming). Maybe there WILL be new merchandise arriving before Force Friday this year. Let's see what will indeed arrive because it's a crap shoot! We should also note that they arrived to the store on clearance as well.
