Dynamic Abbreviations
There are a lot of abbreviations associated with Star Wars collecting. Heck, any collecting for that matter. The abbreviations that collectors encounter can be a challenge if you don't know what they mean. There are not a lot of sources to help learn them. In most cases, if an explanation of the abbreviations exists on a site it can be hard to find and the list is not right with you when you see an abbreviation you don't know. MOC, MISB, ARC, ODST? These abbreviations in the product listing can be real important in choosing what you want and getting the right item.

For the past several weeks, fellow collectors have been asking us questions and making suggestions. We have been listening and learning!
Many Halo Collectors in particular told us that they generally open their figures after purchase. And some Star Wars Collectors told us they were “Army Builders” who also open their figures. However, we also heard from other Star Wars collectors who really liked the idea of their action figures coming with and being shipped in a protective plastic case (See Preview Article #4 on our Splash Page).

Collectorate Update!
A collector recently asked us…
“How much further do you guys lack from being finished on the site? I kind of can't wait to see what all will be offered and what the prices will be when the site goes live on the internet”
We have been in “can’t wait” mode since April! Last week we signed a contract with a national design firm to take over the creation of our site.

An Open Letter From The Collectorate...

| At some point in our life, most of us will face the responsibility of caring
for an aging parent. Unfortunately, one of our owners is now facing the difficult
choices associated with just such a scenario. This has slowed the opening of The
Collectorate, but we are sure you will agree that moms should always come first.
We will open as soon as possible, but since it is impossible to know just when this medical crisis with resolve itself, we don’t want to create dates we may not be ready for. We profusely apologize for this delay. We will continue to put out more screen shots and updates every week. Stay tuned because we will announce our opening several days prior to the actual date. ALWAYS GET THE ITEM YOU ORDERED: THE COLLECTORATE ID©
In this posting we preview The Collectorate ID©. Each item in The Collectorate’s inventory is assigned a unique hexadecimal number. This number is affixed to each item by means of a small sticker that stays with the item throughout inventory, sales, packing, shipping, and direct to you. The stickers are produced exclusively for The Collectorate, and have a special adhesive that allows them to be removed.
The Collectorate ID© System allows you, the collector, to be certain you receive the exact item you selected online. You get to choose right down to the individual action figure. Now you can hand pick items just like you were there! What’s more, that number will never be used again. It belongs to you only!
