Rogue One is almost here! Not that you need another reason to be excited, but check out this behind the scenes look at the creatures of Rogue One. A lot of the new creatures and aliens in this video already feel like they belong in the Star Wars galaxy. That's something I wouldn't say about the majority of the creatures we saw in Maz Kanata's castle. I love the design of these new characters, but I hope we see some more familiar aliens as well. The new Mon Calamari look great and hopefully they aren't the only familiar face we see. Let's have some Rodians and Twi'leks walking around the streets of Jedha too. What do you think? What is your favorite Rogue One design so far? Let us know in the comment section!

Hondo Ohnaka returned to Star Wars Rebels just in time. Yes, this was another filler episode but at least Hondo was there. He was a breath of fresh air after spending an entire episode with the insufferable Iron Squadron. Click through for the full review.

Ah! We missed an anniversary in the Star Wars universe. Yesterday was the 38th anniversary of The Star Wars Holiday Special which premiered on November 17, 1978. It was pretty bad, but it was also like a train wreck where you couldn't look away from it. Also, it introduced us all to the coolest bounty hunter of all time: Boba Fett. Thanks to all who were involved in making this pretty stinky cheese! We adore it.

The new IMAX poster for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was just posted. (Click the image for a larger view). Personally, I'm not as impressed with this poster compared to the previous posters. I really liked the radically different tropical look they had with the first full poster.

The The Force Awakens 3D Collector's Edition Blu-ray comes out next week (November 15th). Not sure what to expect? Should you buy this latest release? We're going to help you make that decistion! Here's our hands-on full review and breakdown of what you can expect from this set. Still want it? Pre-order it right here for an on-time arrival!
Season three of Star Wars Rebels is beginning to gain some momentum, but I'm still curious about the show's longevity moving forward. The sleuths over at Wookieepedia have determined that the current season of Star Wars Rebels is in the second year before the Battle of Yavin. That means we only have one more season before Rebels runs into the OT timeline and Rogue One. Personally, I don't think Rebels will continue into the OT timeline and will get a fourth and final season. The move to have Filoni oversee future animation projects makes me think that they're already prepping the next animated series and are winding down Rebels. What do you think? Will Rebels run into the OT timeline? How many seasons will Rebels have when all is said and done? What is the end game for Star Wars Rebels? Let us know what you think in our comments!

Today we’re going to look at “The Hidden Enemy.” Chronologically, it’s the second episode of the series and takes place directly before the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars film. Get ready for clone traitors, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress flirting, and headless tactical droids after the jump!

You may have caught this news hours ago on our Facebook page, but we decided to add it to our front page. After months of speculation, Lucasfilm confirmed today that Donald Glover (Atlanta, Community, The Martian) has been cast as a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie. If Lando had to be recast, Glover seems like a good choice. Head over to StarWars.com for the full story and let us know what you think in our comments!

I find it hard to believe at times, but I've been writing reviews for Jedi Temple Archives since March of 2014. I began by reviewing season six of Star Wars: The Clone Wars when it was released on Netflix. Since then, we've opened up a companion Research Droids Reviews database that has been home to reviews of Star Wars Rebels, The Force Awakens, the new canon novels, and home video releases. This database is expanding yet again. Beginning this weekend, I will be providing weekly reviews of the first five seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. These past episodes will be reviewed in the chronological order outlined by StarWars.com. I hope these reviews will be a fun way for everyone to revisit this great series! Join us and follow along each week to follow the story in chronological order!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, Star Trek) has replaced Alexander Desplat as the composer for Rogue One. The reason for Desplat's departure? That would be those inescapable reshoots. The extensive reshoots Rogue One went through created a scheduling conflict for Desplat and he was forced to drop out. Enter Michael Giacchino. Giacchino has frequently worked for Disney in the past scoring five Pixar movies, Zootopia, and the upcoming Doctor Strange movie among others. It's still strange and nerve-racking to think that someone besides John Williams will be scoring a Star Wars movie, but Giacchino seems like a natural fit.

Turner has struck a massive deal with Disney for the basic cable rights to 10 Star Wars films. The deal includes four unreleased Star Wars films (most likely Rogue One, Episodes 8 and 9, and the Han Solo movie). They have also reached a separate agreement with 20th Century Fox for the original Star Wars. The Star Wars films have been out of circulation on basic cable since a licensing agreement with Spike TV expired in 2014. The original and prequel trilogies will begin airing on TNT as early as September 20th. Head over to Variety for the full story!

Michael Leader, the man who played the Stormtrooper that famously hit his head on the blast shield doorway has died. Metro.co.uk has the full story. Special thanks to JTA reader Marc G. for the alert!
UPDATE 1: It looks like Metro.co.uk has an inaccurate story. Although Michael Leader did pass away, apparently he was not responsible for this famous Star Wars blooper. Wookieepedia goes on to explain that the actor who hit his head was actually Laurie Goode (who is alive and well).
UPDATE 2: This story may be accurate. Wookieepedia documents that BOTH Michael Leader and Laurie Goode recall bumping their heads as stormtroopers. We'll let you decide.
