JTA Officially Opens the Next Two Hasbro Visual Guides

Posted by Chuck | May 29, 2014 at 02:53 PM EDT |

It's almost time for two new lines from Hasbro to start up! We're gearing up by officially opening Visual Guides for both The Black Series [Phase II] and Star Wars: Rebels! Click below to visit each guide where we've listed both the confirmed and rumor lists of all upcoming figures! We'll update these guides as new information comes in over the next few months.

Visit Our All-new Visual Guide Index Page

Posted by Chuck | August 29, 2013 at 09:42 AM EDT |

In order to stream-line the front page we have removed our Visual Guides branching menu and replaced it with a directly-linked banner to our brand new Visual Guide Index page, which better matches our Research Droids Reviews Index page for more consistancy in finding the various Star Wars lines. You can still find our easy one-click menu on all of the Visual Guide Index pages for each navigation when jumping from guide-to-guide. You can also find a new home link on the left side of every page for a quick jump back to our main page. We're still fine-tuning our graphics and layout, so bear with us and please feel free to leave feedback in our comments on what works (or doesn't work) for you! Just look for the Visual Guides banner at the top left of each and every page to jump you right to the main Visual Guide Index!

Keep your eyes open over the next few days as we add two very related exclusives to both our Visual Guides and Research Droids Reviews!

New Sections Now Open For the Upcoming 2013 Products

Posted by Chuck | June 28, 2013 at 03:05 PM EDT |

The time for new figures to hit the shelves is fast approaching! We just finished laying the groundwork for these to be added to the archives by opening up two new sections in both our Visual Guides and Research Droids Reviews! Make sure to stop by our new Visual Guide for The Black Series to keep up-to-date on the latest figure listings, and keep an eye on our Research Droids Reviews as we add these to the database as soon as they are available. You can also find all our listings for the new Star Wars [Darth Vader/Revenge of the Sith] series on its Visual Guide page, and its corresponding Research Droids Review index is ready to go as well!

30 (77-07) Redux - Wave 11 (2008 Wave 2)

Posted by Chuck | February 13, 2013 at 09:57 PM EDT |

We have always felt that the 30 (77-07) is one of the greatest collections of figures Hasbro has done to date. While not all of them were made in the expected super-articulated fashion that’s become standard today, many of the figures brought into the line are nonetheless done so well from the start that they will likely never see an update again. We will be releasing updates to this very cherished line wave by wave. We have updated our Visual Guides and we’ve processed all-new expanded galleries and a new “stats box” that mimics the card backs of the figures in the line in our Research Droids Reviews. We've reached the final wave from one of the best lines Hasbro has produced: The delayed The Force Unleased wave. Fans of the game will enjoy these 7 figures, almost all completely new sculpts! Click through as we break this wave down...

Oh, and let's not forget about the tremendous upgrade to Obi-Wan Kenobi which in our opinion is the best Episode III likeness of the character to date. See these and more with all-new RDR photo galleries and updated VGs!

30 (77-07) Redux - Wave 9 - With Intro By Dan Curto

We have updated our Visual Guides and we’ve processed all-new expanded galleries and a new “stats box” that mimics the card backs of the figures in the line in our Research Droids Reviews. We could tell you how we feel about this final wave of 2007, but we thought it best explained by Dan Curto, who played a key role in the selection process for this wave....

When The Force Unleashed video game release was delayed in 2007, Hasbro decided to pull out a wave of 7 action figures that were based on characters that appeared in the game. This opened up the door for a new "repaint wave" to be added to the line. I was invited to participate in a weekend brainstorming session held over Easter weekend, and I worked directly with Hasbro to select the 7 replacement figures...

Click through as we spotlight Wave 8 – one of the most common, but still very relevant waves in the line and a solid cast of characters based on Attack Of The Clones (and some surrounding events). Standouts include the Tartakovsky realistically inspired Voolvif Monn, a fantastically interchangeable Padmé Amidala, one of our most favorite Jango Fett interpretations (to date) and of course the brilliant Concept Rebel Trooper. Click through as we spotlight Wave 7 of this collection. Focusing on Return of the Jedi, we received another wave full of all-new sculpts (5 total out of 6!), which featured a nice 2-pack of ewoks! The only downside to this wave was the transformation of Anakin's spirit to the likeness of Hayden Christensen. Some things are just better left alone. And, as with all previous waves, the McQuarrie Concept Figure did not disappoint!

There is also a near-definitive update to 4-LOM in this wave as well. Visual Guide Search Engine Update

Posted by Chuck | August 07, 2006 at 11:20 AM EDT |

Even though our Research Droids were hard at work bringing you full Comic-Con coverage, they didn't let up on their Visual Guide search engine project. An additional 4 full guides have been added to the database! Our search parameters have now been expanded to include the full Saga line (2002-2004) and the Clone Wars line. This brings the total number of searchable database items to more than 775!

Visual Guide Search Engine Update

Posted by Chuck | July 20, 2006 at 09:49 AM EDT |

Our Research Droids have been busy this week, adding full support for both the Episode I and POTJ Visual Guides to our Visual Guide Search Engine! We've also added a handy quick search box just below our Feature Guide (above the Visual Guide navigation, on the left). Now you can quickly search from any page! Just type in your query and hit enter! Next up, the droids begin entering the very extensive Saga items to the search database.

New Feature: Visual Guide Search Engine

Posted by Chuck | July 15, 2006 at 11:26 AM EDT |

Today we release a special treat to our Visual Guide fans! By request, we now have a search engine dedicated only for sorting through our thousands of Visual Guides! Now you can quickly find that one item you are looking for. You can narrow your search down to a single item, or even find every Luke Skywalker Hasbro ever produced! You can even type in a year and find everything (that we have guides for) that was produced that year.

Currently, our Visual Guide Search Engine is still in the Beta stage, with items being added to the database daily. We will keep you up-to-date as new guides are completed in the database. In the mean time, you can play around with it since our Vintage and POTF2 sections are completely cataloged and ready to be searched!
