Posted by Paul | October 01, 2014 at 12:35 AM EDT |

Review: Sandtrooper (Tatooine Patrol) - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 29, 2014 at 12:20 AM EDT |

Is it a dirty corporal or a dirty sergeant? Because we have no idea. There was no Sandtrooper with a gray pauldron in Episode IV, but that's what Hasbro decided to give the Sandtrooper (Tatooine Patrol) figure in the Power Of The Jedi line. It's a great figure nonetheless. See this figure in its entirety in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Imperial Officer - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 28, 2014 at 12:40 AM EDT |

We're finishing up the basic figures in the Power Of The Jedi line and the Imperial Officer is up next. Sadly, this is not the figure Hasbro meant to update as this is not an Imperial Officer. It's an Imperial Technician as seen in Episode V and Episode VI. Check it out in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Rebel Trooper (Tantive IV Defender) - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 27, 2014 at 12:55 AM EDT |

Nothing is worse than waiting for an update to a character you desperately want to see improved upon and then that new figure just doesn't meet your expectations either. That's sort of what went down with the Rebel Trooper (Tantive IV Defender) figure from the Power Of The Jedi line. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Chewbacca (Millennium Falcon Mechanic) - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 26, 2014 at 01:40 AM EDT |

The first true to scale Chewbacca action figure was the POTJ Chewbacca (Millennium Falcon Mechanic) figure. It doesn't hold up terribly well today, but it's not half that bad either. The point here is that it changed how all future Chewbacca action figures would be approached. It's the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Slave I - OTC - TARGET Exclusive

Posted by Paul | September 25, 2014 at 12:15 AM EDT |

Let's go back in time a decade to see what kind of goodness Hasbro gave us back then. The Original Trilogy Collection Slave I may not hold as much water as it did back in 2004, but we still can't help hold fondness for it 10 years after the fact. See why this is still such a noteworthy release in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Starkiller (Galen Marek) - TBS [P2] - #05

Posted by Paul | September 23, 2014 at 12:25 AM EDT |

Oh boy do we feel bad for those of you that missed out on The Vintage Collection Starkiller (Vader's Apprentice) (VC100) figure because The Black Series Starkiller (Galen Marek) figure REALLY pales in comparison. With eyebrows that Elaine gave Uncle Leo in Seinfeld and a hairline of Jim Carrey's character in Dumb & Dumber, there isn't much to praise here at all. The paint operations in general are nightmarish. See why you'll still want to track down the TVC figure by checking in with our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: R5-G19 - TBS [P2] - #01

Posted by Paul | September 22, 2014 at 12:20 AM EDT |

We continue our exclusive advanced look at the first wave of The Black Series [Phase II] line look which should be hitting the USA some time in October. (FYI, we will also be referring to this wave as wave 6 to keep continuity in The Black Series overall lineup.) Next up is the R5-series astromech droid R5-G19 which apparently has really confused Hasbro, not only with the character itself but also the figure's production. What's interesting is that this droid doesn't even appear in Return Of The Jedi. Well it does, but it doesn't. We'll explain. Hasbro's reference image shows another R5 unit, not R5-G19 (although they do look very similar to each other). We have a lot to discuss so learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Review: Luke Skywalker [Wampa Attack] - TBS [P2] - #02

Posted by Paul | September 21, 2014 at 12:01 AM EDT |

We have NEW FIGURES to review! We start our exclusive advanced look at the first wave of The Black Series [Phase II] line look which should be hitting the USA some time in October. (FYI, we will also be referring to this wave as wave 6 to keep continuity in The Black Series overall lineup.) We start off with Luke Skywalker as he appeared in The Empire Strikes Back right after his attack from the wampa. The figure has some impressive upgrades when compared to The Vintage Collection release, but is it perfect? We have a great deal to say about him. Review: Scout Trooper (Imperial Patrol) [Version 1] - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 19, 2014 at 12:25 AM EDT |

The Scout Trooper (Imperial Patrol) [Version 1] figure was a breath of fresh air in 2000/2001. But it cleverly fooled us all because it really didn't age all that well when compared to what Hasbro has released since. See this ancestor in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi) - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 11, 2014 at 01:40 AM EDT |

One of the most boring figures in the Star Wars Power Of The Jedi line and one of our least favorites is Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi). He'll instantly remind you of the Episode I inundation/deluge. Review: Darth Vader (Emperor's Wrath) - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 09, 2014 at 01:10 AM EDT |

One Star Wars figure with a clever spin was Darth Vader (Emperor's Wrath) from the Power Of The Jedi line. It may have been one of the most unexected figures of 2001. Review: Ketwol - POTJ - Basic

Posted by Paul | September 07, 2014 at 12:35 AM EDT |

Although a controversial addition to the Special Edition of A New Hope, it's hard to deny that Ketwol is pretty neat as an action figure. Hasbro even made his paradigm shift/dual characteristics as screen accurate as possible too! This single alien replaced two wolf-men from the cantina in two different ways. Both are here (from a certain point of view.) Find out more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Posted by Paul | August 29, 2014 at 12:35 AM EDT |

A good figure, but a terribly annoying character, or do we saying annoying "characters"? The Fode And Beed (Podrace Announcers) figure is a tremendous update to the 2-Headed Announcer pack-in figure from the Episode I line, but will you still want it for your own collection? Review: Luke Skywalker's X-wing - TSC - Toys R Us Exclusive

Posted by Paul | August 26, 2014 at 12:35 AM EDT |

Although an admirable effort, the 2002 Star Wars "Saga" Luke Skywalker's X-wing Fighter just wasn't up to snuff. Thankfully, Hasbro made all of their ills right with the stunning 2006 The Saga Collection Luke Skywalker's X-wing, which not only included an incredible update to the vehicle complete with removable swamp moss, the set also contained a nearly all-new Luke Skywalker figure in addition to a Ralph McQuarrie inspired Dragonsnake. And the kicker? It only set you back $45 back in the day. We HOPE you have this stunning set already, but if you don't, learn about it now with a cool 60+ image gallery and more in our Research Droids Reviews today.
