Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi - POTJ - Mega Action

Posted by Paul | December 19, 2014 at 12:55 AM EDT |

Did you know that The Black Series wasn't the first 6" line from Hasbro? It actually was planned as early as the Episode I line. But plans were shelved and it eventually was released under the Power Of The Jedi line as Mega Action figures. Now we look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi figure next. See the 6" roots to our current 6" line in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Posted by Paul | December 15, 2014 at 10:08 AM EDT |

Let's check out the Geonosis Battle Droid Commander & Count Dooku Hologram. While we love this release, we're going to formally ask Sideshow to start producing some all-new Original Trilogy characters going forward and leave droids and clones alone for a while. Thank you. Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi - R - Saga Legends (SL11)

Posted by Paul | December 11, 2014 at 08:01 AM EDT |

He is both SL13 and SL11 in different lines in the same year of 2014. Oh, and he is the same figure too. Are you confused yet, because we are! The unnecessarily re-released Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, now in the Rebels line look, looks just as bad at the end of 2014 as he did in the beginning of 2014. Check out why we don't understand the release of this figure at all in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: TIE Pilot - TBS [P2] - Six Inch Figures (#05)

Posted by Paul | December 07, 2014 at 01:05 AM EDT |

Well, the TIE Pilot is another pleasant surprise in The Black Series 6" line. It's a very generic interpretation of the character, but we found very little fault with it. Review: Clone Trooper Sergeant - TBS [P2] - Six Inch Figures (#07)

Posted by Paul | December 06, 2014 at 05:13 PM EDT |

We expected to blow off the Clone Trooper Sergeant as another annoying repaint, but it has impressed us very much. Not only has Hasbro taken obvious strides to clean up the placement of color flashes, they've also cast the figure in an off-white plastic which has done wonders to how realistic this figure appears. Now we want all of the officers. See why we're surprisingly giddy about this release in our Research Droids Reviews today. Posted by Paul | November 30, 2014 at 01:54 PM EDT |

We're tired of clones from Sideshow Collectibles, but the Wolfpack Clone Trooper (104th) is actually quite nice. And he isn't a generic clone either. He is Sinker from Season 4 of The Clone Wars. Review: C1-10P ("Chopper") - R - Saga Legends (SL06)

Posted by Paul | November 27, 2014 at 09:51 AM EDT |

It's review 2014 so it's time to start reviewing figures from the Rebels line! It's also Thanksgiving and we're thankful that we have new products to reveal as well! Let's start off with C1-10P ("Chopper"). This character is already getting flack in the show, and the action figure feels more like a Happy Meal toy than a real action figure. But we think this droid doesn't look half as bad as everyone is saying. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Battle Droid - SW [Y/AOTC] - Movie Heroes (MH04)

Posted by Paul | November 26, 2014 at 01:10 AM EDT |

If 2012 was all about too much of the same product, then 2013 was all about too little. The Star Wars [Yoda/Attack Of The Clones] line was essentially a miscarriage, but some good stuff did manage to escape out, everywhere except the USA that is. Check out the Battle Droid (with cool exploding feature) from the failed Movie Heroes line. It's actually pretty cool. See it in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Anakin's Jedi Starfighter - SW [TPM 3D] - Vehicle

Posted by Paul | November 25, 2014 at 12:45 AM EDT |

Maybe it would be best if we skip over review 2012 so we don't have to revisit "the debacle of 2012". But instead of ignoring this terrible time, let's check out a repacked Anakin's Jedi Starfighter from the last assortment of true Class II vehicles. It's all in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Boba Fett - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL30)

Posted by Paul | November 24, 2014 at 12:35 AM EDT |

By 2011, Hasbro went through what collectors considered a clueless phase when it came to managing the Saga Legends line. Collectors begged them to use it as a sub-line to repack some hard-to-find figures along with keeping the core main characters available at retail in an evergreen fashion. They instead chose some of the oddest action figures to repack in this line however. Of course Boba Fett should seem like a great choice, but they released an inferior sculpt over some of the better updated versions and released a slight repaint of The Saga Collection figure. Boba Fett is "different enough to make you mad" and he can even "sit in a vehicle". But see why this figure is an easy pass despite a few benefits. It's all in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Jar Jar Binks - TCW [SOTDS] - CW65

Posted by Paul | November 23, 2014 at 12:50 AM EDT |

The year 2010 brought us some of the greatest The Clone Wars figures, and it also brought us some of the greatest repacks as well. The slightly repainted Jar Jar Binks was a figure collectors were desperate to see re-released again and it finally happened in The Clone Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] lineup. We're still plugging through the years celebrating the long-running Hasbro Star Wars action figure history and we've reached review 2,010. Because we have nothing new to review in The Vintage Collection, we're choosing an item from the other concurrent line of the same year. See more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: AT-TE (All Terrain Tactical Enforcer) - TCW [F/S1] - Vehicle

Posted by Paul | November 21, 2014 at 12:15 AM EDT |

The year 2008 brought us the very first phase of the long-running The Clone Wars line. And would you believe after all of these years we totally blew over the AT-TE (All Terrain Tactical Enforcer) vehicle from that line in our reviews? Now that we're on a roll celebrating Hasbro's rich Star Wars action figure history, we decided to focus our 2,008th review on this missed vehicle.
