Research Droids Reviews: March 21, 2012 – March 27, 2012

Meena Tills - ROTS - Basic (III 47)
Admiral Ackbar set the stage for our unfathomable love of the Mon Calamari species. But honestly, what vintage figure didn’t do that to us? A no-brainer species for the Prequel Trilogy, aside from Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars, the Mon Calamari didn’t make a huge splash in Star Wars folklore until Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith.... AT-TE Tank Gunner - ROTS - Basic (III 38)
There were so many clone trooper concepts that never made it to the final version of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. If you ask us for our opinion, we think that George Lucas tried to fit way too much into the final Star Wars film that he ultimately had to make some sad cuts that had originally been intended for the film.... The blue Twi’lek is notorious for being in the Expanded Universe first and whose popularity from those stories brought her into the films.... (read the full review)

Saesee Tiin - ROTS - Basic (III 30)
One look at 2002’s SW Saesee Tiin (‘02 #20) figure and you know that Hasbro just wasn’t playing fair with collectors. So many of the Jedi from the Geonosis Arena sequence were relegated to miniature plastic statues for the 2002 basic figure line. And while the excitement to buy new Star Wars action figures took over collectors’ bodies, we quickly realized just how poorly designed these figures were.... (read the full review)

Ki-Adi-Mundi - ROTS - Basic (III 29)
Is there another Jedi from the Prequel Trilogy that was more noble than Master Ki-Adi-Mundi? He’s a Jedi character that exemplifies mental shrewdness, physically agility and a seemingly gifted Master of the Force. In comparison, even other seasoned Jedi don’t see to match equally with him in these regards. But then again, that’s just our assessment.... (read the full review)
