Research Droids Reviews: March 7, 2012 – March 13, 2012

Geonosis Arena Battle - SW [TPM 3D] - Battle Packs
Jango Fett took on the clone troopers? That's only the beginning to where this Battle Packs gets it rating of "total debacle" from us. Sigh. Well, Hasbro has seemingly done it again. They’ve killed the Evolutions line. They’ve killed the Comic Packs line. And now it appears that they’re hell bent on killing the Battle Packs line, a line that used to be one of the most anticipated lines each year.... (read the full review)

Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter - TVC - Vehicles
Hasbro has evidently tested the waters of the buying market with the first three Prequel Trilogy/The Clone Wars The Vintage Collection vehicles released in 2012. Not considering the Original Trilogy stuff in this assertion, we have to admit that they’re three of the coolest mid size (Class II sized) vehicles we have seen in the 3.75” scale lineup yet.... One of the most pleasantly surprising Star Wars related toy releases in 2011 was without a doubt Disney's Star Tours Starspeeder 1000. Did you know that Star Wars collectors only have one option for a 3.75” scaled screen Episode IV accurate R5-D4 figure? And the option we have can barely be considered an action figure. We’re talking about 2008’s TLC Remote Control R5-D4 figure which was originally released in Japan and we’ll get to are opening question in a moment. (read the full review)

Anakin Skywalker - ROTS - Basic (III 50)
For years rumors abounded about how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. On May 19, 2005 Star Wars fans across the galaxy were shown the rumors were very true. Anakin Skywalker denounced his faith under the delusion that he could save those he loved from dying. And in doing so he betrayed those he once loved and became the most evil force in the galaxy after Emperor Palpatine.... (read the full review)

Ask Aak - ROTS - Basic (III 46)
One thing George Lucas did to make those who grew up with the Original Trilogy happy, whether it was his intention or not, was to include species that were recognizable to us in the Prequel Trilogy. The Chalmun’s Cantina sequence in Episode IV and the whole Jabba sequence in Episode VI brought us a plethora of aliens and absolutely made creature lovers happy beyond immeasurable levels.... if that's possible....
