A New Low For Hasbro and the Q&A

It's hard not to get annoyed when Hasbro wastes our time and energy, as well as the fan's time and energy. Click through to find out how Hasbro is handling the September 16th edition of Hasbro Q&A... and let me preface this with the fact that HunterPR is extremely strict with their deadlines for submitting questions. Heaven forbid if we miss the deadline! But, when the shoe is on the other foot...

From HunterPR & Hasbro:

Hello -

Thank you for your continued participation in Hasbro's Star Wars Q&A program. Hasbro understands that you've been waiting patiently for your outlet's responses from the team for this last round of the Q&A dating back to September 16, and it's appreciated. Following Hasbro's fun and exciting debut at New York Comic Con this past weekend, which included a successful Hasbro Star Wars panel, the team has decided to forgo the current Q&A round and focus on the next round.

Hasbro apologizes for the last-minute notification and hopes that you'll submit questions for the next round.

Best,
Danny
On behalf of Hasbro, Inc.

So, I guess we can expect the questions that we submitted today to be answered maybe next month, if they answer them. And, for those interested here are JTA's questions that are being left on the cutting room floor with this announcement:

1.    The ARC Trooper Commander (or Captain Fordo as Tartakovsky fans like to refer to him as) in The Vintage Collection is one of the most incredible action figures you have produced to date. I hope the success of this figure has shown you how much we as collectors (and it seems kids) still want characters from the original Clone Wars micro-series as action figures. The whole positive situation regarding this figure has jogged our memory about another character in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars. A while back during a Q&A session a fan site asked what are some of the top characters employees at HASBRO want to see realized in the basic figure line. One of the standout characters you selected was the Nelvaan Warrior (also from the original Clone Wars micro-series). Hardcore collectors (and we would bet everyone else) still want this character made into an action figure. It seems like the Nelvaan Warrior is one of the last NEEDED characters to “complete” the needed cast of Clone Wars figures. Since Captain Fordo was so successful, would you be able to somehow work this in a similar way into the basic figure line even despite some direction by Lucasfilm, Ltd. to avoid characters from this series? (You could call him “Blue Man” or “Wolf-like Warrior” or something to get around this direction, couldn’t you?)

2.      Can you give us a very rough answer (we won’t hold you to it) to about how many figures from the Original Trilogy (Episodes IV, V and VI only obviously) you have planned for The Vintage Collection in 2012. We have to be honest with you. Our readers are feeling somewhat disengaged with Hasbro because of the lack of Original Trilogy focus in The Vintage Collection. Some have even got burned out from waiting for these types of figures to arrive that they have shelved their collecting habits or even temporarily walked away from not being able to find figures (a problem we know you’re working on) and until Hasbro decides to refocus the line back to all the good things that are truly “vintage”. Can you please give us something palatable that we can take back to our readers that will assure them that they will be very happy in 2012? We’re of course not asking for the next slideshow, specific details or anything else like that of course, but we feel the line has reached a point where fans on the fence need to be pushed on the side of collecting instead of the side of abandoning the hobby altogether. There is more frustration out there than we think you’re aware of. (Heck, even we get burned out from the lack of this vintage focus.) We think getting some assurance from you now will help with that and keep everyone on board.
