C-3PO With Ewok Throne - TSC - Basic (SAGA 042)

C-3PO With Ewok Throne - TSC - Basic (SAGA 042)
During the Revenge Of The Sith line, Hasbro made what could be considered their best version of C-3PO yet. There were some aesthetic differences between this Prequel Trilogy version of C-3PO and his Original Trilogy counterpart, but a few tweaks would make this sculpt interchangeable for both. And that's essentially what Hasbro did to make a very cool rendering of C-3PO based on his appearance in Return Of The Jedi.... (read the full review)

Moff Jerjerrod - TSC - Basic (SAGA 040)

Moff Jerjerrod - TSC - Basic (SAGA 040)
One of our most favorite Imperial commanders of all time is Moff Jerjerrod who made a debut appearance in Return Of The Jedi. Some interpreted his sneers and grimaces as arrogance, but we saw something empathetic about him in his mannerisms. Although many scenes including him were deleted from Episode VI, his limited screen time did reveal a humanity that seemed to be lacking in so many other Imperials.... (read the full review)

Emperor Palpatine - TSC - Basic (SAGA 043)

Emperor Palpatine - TSC - Basic (SAGA 043)
There is usually always one action figure in a new wave that doesn't hold up to the quality of the rest. And in the instance of the Battle Of Endor wave, well, Emperor Palpatine wins that award hands down. He isn't a straight repack as you might suspect. No, Hasbro slightly altered some of the paint applications in his face and retooled his right hand to include a hole so the included cane can plug into it.... (read the full review)

Luke Skywalker - TSC - Basic (SAGA 044)

Luke Skywalker - TSC - Basic (SAGA 044)
If there was one thing collectors could take away from The Saga Collection, it would definitely be all of the great upgraded updates to figures we haven't seen in the basic figure line for almost a decade (and in some instances at all). Many modern updates to the original Kenner vintage run were executed beautifully in The Saga Collection.... (read the full review)

Rebel Trooper - TSC - Basic (SAGA 046)

Rebel Trooper - TSC - Basic (SAGA 046)
Why does Hasbro sometimes go so far updating a figure in an effort to make it better, yet leave the old parts which ruin the update? Why they stop cold instead of finishing the upgrade is so frustrating to collectors. If they bother to take the time to retool or give a figure all new parts, then just finish it is what we say.... Rebel Trooper [Gunner] - TSC - Basic (SAGA 046)

Rebel Trooper [Gunner] - TSC - Basic (SAGA 046)
Running changes of figures are becoming more and more prevalent in the Star Wars basic figure line. But it seems that when it came time to bring a running change in The Saga Collection, Hasbro took an all-new approach. Instead of simply adding a new head sculpt to make a new Star Wars character, they've reinvented the Rebel Trooper (SAGA 046) figure a little bit more to make it a completely different type of Rebel, a gunner to be precise. Darth Vader - TSC - Basic (SAGA 045)

Darth Vader - TSC - Basic (SAGA 045)
Once in a while, some action figures come across as sympathetic. There is this generic phenomenon that a few older figures remain cool despite not aging that well due to their limited articulation and slightly inferior sculpts. But that about sums up how we feel about The Saga Collection's Darth Vader (SAGA 045) figure.... (read the full review)
