We always need your questions! Please e-mail them to [email protected]. Thank you!

1. Can The Vintage Collection Death Star Luke's belt be removed without damaging the figure? (Adam)

JTA: No Adam, the belt cannot be removed at all. I am not even sure if you could damage the figure removing it because it's part of the sculpt and seemingly impossible to remove it. If you're looking to get a great Luke Skywalker figure without the Stormtrooper belt, then be sure to get the Resurgence Of The Jedi Battle Packs set which has the "original" version of the Luke Skywalker (Death Star Escape) sans Stormtrooper belt, the figure from which this one is based.

2. I hate to go back in time a bit but I just wanna know that I'm not alone in this, do you think that mid 2010(the months leading to the launch of the Vintage line) was a nightmare/bore? I mean we got nothing new for months then there was the problem with the last wave of the LC and Clone Wars. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought that most of 2010 was a nightmare for collecting. (Nicholas)

JTA: It certainly was Nicholas, but it has abolutely been worse. I am not sure how new to collecting you are, but 2008 was probably the most tortuous waiting period for hardcore collectors. In February/March 2008, Hasbro announced the cancellation of the 30 (77-07) line after rumors of 2 waves were already unofficially announced as the next two in the line. We were instantly perplexed, but it soon became clear what was happening. Counting the 2008 ROTS wave as wave 1 and TFU wave as wave 2 (in the 2008 TAC line), the third wave was to be the 2008 TLC Tartakovsky Clone Wars wave and the fourth wave was to be the 2008 TLC ROTJ wave. While the 30 (77-07) line got cancelled, obviously the figures weren't cancelled and they became the first two waves of the new The Legacy Collection line look (with droid parts - yay!). But we anguishly waited from February/March to the very end of July before we saw one new basic figure, much longer than what happened in 2010. Granted, there were some exclusives that peppered the drought (including the ultra cool Droid Factory Walmart exclusives), but it was definitely a grueling waiting period. What's great now however is that there are no line look changes because The Vintage Collection (which I know will run through 2013, I feel it) is continuing and there will be no need for format and packaging changes thank goodness. Line look changes stall the basic figure line to a near standstill. Let's hope Hasbro (and we) keep the TVC line running strong for a great long while!

3. TPM 3D is coming + giving a profound opportunity to re-release thee most iconic of Prequel ships. Naboo's Royal Starship. Versions of this sleek beauty appeared in each + every Prequel. Can [Hasbro] re-release this beauty just once more, as an exclusive on the year of its 3-D debut? To reduce costs [they] can gut the electronics, rid its excessive 2 small vehicles, and include just a small figure (Astromech or Anakin). [They] milked old molds before and sold(out) the Emperor's big Shuttle as a Target exclusive in Xmas 2006. Can [they] repeat that same success by milking another set of aging 12-year-old molds? Unleashing the big Naboo Royal Starship, in time for its 3D film, or as a holiday exclusive on the 2012 movie year? (Chris)

JTA: I think it is a great possibility that Hasbro will find some good reason to get out the Naboo Royal Starship out again. Aftermarket prices prove to Hasbro that there is a demand to bring this vehicle out again. I don't think however that they will "dumb down" the vehicle but rather include more impressive electronics (or other features) than ever before. I would imagine a second release will command a high retail price, but Hasbro will include enough new things to make it worth our while. (How awesome would it be if they included the rest of the astromechs who tried to repair the ship as exclusive figures to this vehicle?) That would be awesome! And maybe an excluisve version of Padmé Amidala would be the icing on the cake. We will share your thoughts with Hasbro. But I would be shocked if Hasbro doesn't make it an effort to release this vehicle in some capacity as a retailer exclusive during the 3D release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

4. Why are you focusing on so many figures in The Saga Collection in your RDRs when there are so many newer products that should be addressed instead. How do you decide what to do next and are you avoiding some products altogether? (Stephan)

JTA: The short answer? It's my column and I do what I want. That is meant to be funny and not attitude-y, so please don't take offense. In every daily post, I provide a link to my email address for readers to send me their requests. I receive requests often, but if you're looking for something for us to focus on, please email us and let us know. We do everything possible to accomodate readers' requests. I also think we are pretty reasonably caught up to date on the contemporary (2011) products. We're waiting to find wave 7 of The Vintage Collection at retail and once we do we will be focusing on them. But aside from some vehicles and exclusives, we think we are caught up. Let me now ask the question. What are YOU looking for in our RDRs? Let us know! And for the record, The Saga Collection is one of my most favoritre all-time basic figure lines. Love it, love it, love it! Some of our best action figures came from this line.

5. See Threepio is a star. His commercial early this year, addressed kids of earth, all the major characters / figures in The Clone Wars cartoons. Speaking of "figures" its 6 long years since we saw an action figure Collector Case. Kmart exclusive Darth Vader Collector Case was the we last saw, 6 years ago. Furthermore, its 28 years since we saw a "shiny version" of C3PO's Collector Case. Given how he's a star (guide for kids to all the "figures" [pun intended] in the cartoons) can we see See Threepio grace his hopefully "shiny" self, as a Collector Case, to hold the cartoon figures he told kids about, stored in his memory bank, and inside him? (Chris W.)

JTA: Hasbro has told us that they will not be releasing the figural collector cases any more. The line has exceeded 2000 figures (not just basic, but all types) at this point and it is pointless to release an action figure case that can hold less than 50. While these cases were wonderful exclusives for the Original Trilogy Collection, a line that catered to longtime "vintage" collectors, it just isn't a practical item any more. I personally feel the square cases are much more ideal and I wish Hasbro would extrapoloate on that idea and maybe make cases with 5 or 6 trays and make 6 (or more) unique versions each specific to every film in the Star Wars saga. I agree a collectors' case is very much needed, but the figural head cases are just not an option any more. They also never really kept the figures in place anyway.
