We wanted to give you a closer look at the running change TVC Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit) (VC23) figure. Now known as Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture), no figure probably caused as much controversy as this one did. Click through to see what Hasbro did (and didn't) fix and also see a rundown of facts as well.

I've been involved in modern (neo-classic) Star Wars collecting as long as anyone else (1995 and onward). And I have also been a writer at a Star Wars fan site for a little over two years now. In all that time, one figure that was the biggest center of whining was this Luke Skywalker figure. I love you all, but so many of you drove me insane complaining that this figure "sucked" because it wasn't truly Luke Jedi. (This is of course said with a smile if you can't take my joke.) We tried our best to advise everyone from the beginning that it was an error on Hasbro's part and that a running change correcting the error was coming. But that didn't seem to quench the whining. Hopefully the physical proof contained herein will reassure you that Hasbro made a mistake and that another Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit) figure is indeed coming "later on" which will include a tunic, cloak and other necessary parts to qualify him as a Jedi Knight.

Officially designated as Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture), it's nice to see this figure corrected in The Vintage Collection. What's interesting however is that one glaring detail has been missed for the second time. The nameplate is missing the silver detail. It's still all white! We find this bizarre. Hasbro must have used the same template to make this version. We can also confirm that the version of Luke with lighter blonde hair and the hole in his belt and nub on the lightsaber hilt is the version that Hasbro deems as correct. This is the version of Luke that is contained within the package. So if your Luke doesn't have a hole in his belt, you have the "error". Shipping as part of wave 5 of The Vintage Collection, he likely will be carried forward to additional assortments as he is an extremely popular figure. We wonder if Hasbro will fix that nameplate though!
