One of the most controversial scenes in The Force Awakens came at the end of the film. SPOILERS FOLLOW. After returning from Starkiller base, Chewbacca walked right past Leia and Leia hugged Rey instead. There was no moment between Leia and Chewbacca following the death of Han Solo. In an interview with Slash Film, Abrams admitted "That was probably one of the mistakes I made." Abrams went on to explain the rationale behind Leia hugging Rey instead of Chewbacca and conceded that it felt almost like a slight, "which was definitely not the intention."
