Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 81. Topic: Removable hand Mace Windu – does it exist?

Q: Hi Paul, I would like to think that Hasbro has released an action figure of every Star Wars character that had their hand or arm cut off in the Star Wars movies. But I was in the midst of setting up a collection of these and could not find a Mace Windu that had this feature. Do you know if there IS a Mace Windu 3 3/4"action figure that has a detachable hand? And if not, could you surmise what Hasbro’s reasoning could be? Thanks, (Ron)

A: Hasbro has NEVER released a Mace Windu action figure with this feature, sadly. Some of the collector focused versions of him with swivel wrists make great substitutes since those hands are easily removable, but other than that we have no other 3.75" action figure options. One licensee that DID include this awesome feature on their interpretation of Mace Windu was Sideshow Collectibles. Their incredibly brilliant Mace Windu (Jedi Master) 1:6 Scale Figure comes with a TINY attachment that mimics the loss of his right hand at the (no pun intended) hand of Darth Sidious. I believe that Hasbro may have never felt that this state of him was "that" important because he is essentially "killed" moments after his hand is chopped off (if you believe that camp of logic) when he plummets to certain doom through the large office chamber window. If you believe that Mace survived immediately after these events, well, you're still out of luck (as of now).
