The Black Series Line Just Can't Handle The Pressure!

You may want to inspect the new The Black Series Deluxe figures hitting retail as we speak. JTA reader Michael W. gives us photographic evidence that the 6" figures (in some instances) are suffering a similar fate to the 3.75" version where the visor is collapsing under the pressure of the bubble. Hasbro, ya gotta give your figures more breathing room in the bubble! Check it out by clicking through for more!

Paul,

I managed to track down a fresh case of the Star Wars Black Series Deluxe Jabba the Hutt and Speeder Bike with Biker Scout figures at a local Target this evening. I have been hearing reports of bent visors on the Biker Scout, so I inspected both carefully before picking one.

Get ready for Visor-gate.

The first Biker Scout had a badly bent visor, and it was obviously a result of the way the figure was packaged. The plastic used to position the figure and the bike in the box will bend the visor if the head isn't positioned correctly. I've included photos of both the bent and unbent versions so you can see what I mean.

The second Biker Scout was fine other than some slightly wonky paint apps (the grey details on the front of his mask were off center). I've sadly come to expect this from Hasbro, but I will hold off opening the one I purchased tonight to see if I can track down one with better paint apps.

I also picked up a Jabba (sans dais, frog bowl, hookah and Salacious). I have to say that even stripped of all his accoutrements Jabba is a stunning figure. But the bent visor is definitely something folks should look out for if you find one of these in the wild. Hopefully this will not be too common of an occurrence.
