Topic: Q&A of the Day

Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 51. Topic: la colección vintage de hasbro

Q: Buenos dias.

(Lazaro V.)

Translation: "Good morning!

You complain about how scarce The Vintage Collection figures are in the US, so imagine how scarce they are here in Spain. They (the figures) haven't arrived here and from other collections, we've got just a few units of figures. Particularly, I am forced to buy all of my figures by Ebay. This takes every figure to a higher price due of shipping, so some figures are even more expensive. I'm following your website for some years now and I see that you have a narrow relationship with Hasbro. My questions are:
¿Is Hasbro interested about selling only in the USA?
¿Why do we get only the less searched figures?
¿Spanish Hasbro distributor is not as competent as should be?

Thanks so much for reading my message and I eagerly wait for your response. Thanks for your time and greetings from Spain" (Lazaro V.)

A: I am not sure how long you've been reading our site, but we get tons of international reports from readers as far as Spain, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Philippines, Canada, Scotland, Mexico and plenty of other countries/continents. While I can't recall sources from Spain writing in, I am sure we must have received some reports over the years. JTA doesn't know the ins and outs of international marketing, so I would have to encourage to reach out to sellers in your area and see if you can get more concrete information out of them. JTA is attending Toy Fair next week, so I can try to find out from Hasbro where I can direct you to help you in finding these figures. I hope you realize that The Vintage Collection is done so it will indeed become more and more difficult to find these figures. Hasbro is an American company, but they do their best to get products out to collectors abroad. Distribution in general has been a relative nightmare, so it's my guess that it affects territories outside of the USA much harder. It's not that Hasbro doesn't care, but their own resources to bring you these figures are limited too. Retail is not free from blame. They've certainly handled the collector line in the USA too. We are still fighting the TPM 3D debacle of 2012 as these figures are STILL blocking the arrival of new figures. For the first time in years I have bought most of my figures online. It's sad. It's frustrating. But I won't venture a guess at what the answer is. I just hope Hasbro keeps making the figures for us.

If you are a reader of our site from Spain, would you kindly offer some assistance to Lazaro by posting some ideas for him in our comments? Thank you!
