Is It All Smoke And Mirrors? What Gives?

This is more of an inquisitive post than anything else. It's not meant to be overly critical, acerbically sarcastic or blatantly pompous. Nothing beyond wave 1 of The Black Series has hit my local TRU stores with Anakins, Biggs and Biker Scouts rotting on pegs. Some TPM 3D product is still hoarding shelf space. Out of the blue three weeks ago, the closest TRU to my work received two cases of Mission Series wave 2. You would think these new figures would immediately be a hit. New product hitting stores is a rarity today. But to this date, only one full set of figures has sold (and guess who bought them?). Isn't this the line to save Hasbro from certain doom? Isn't the lower price point supposed to engage parents looking to find a budget line of action figures for their kids? Why aren't these selling? These are all-new sculpts. I smell something rotten in Demark. And I don't think I can discount the collector buying public anymore like so many "open-minded" collectors have. These are cheap action figures that comes down to $5 a piece. This was supposed to engage people to buy, buy, buy! (more....)

What are your thoughts?
