Topic: Q&A of the Day

Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 26.

Q: Hello Paul. Rob here. Big fan of your website, it helps me connect with my inner child again and I can't thank you enough for that ;). Okay. I realize you don't know me from a hole in the ground, but I'm going to try this anyway. What have I got to lose?

My young son and I are happily building a Star Wars figure collection... modest, but fun. I was 6 yrs old when the 1st film came out, I have such fond memories of playing with those wonderful toys (I wish I still had them!) The biggest thing on our wishlist right now is the SDCC 6" Boba w/ Han in Carbonite. Problem is, we live paycheck to paycheck and money is so tight that we can neither afford to go to these conventions (we live in Manitoba... no conventions around these parts!), nor afford to dish out 200+ dollars to the scalpers on ebay.

Here's my question to you... do you know of anyone who would be willing to sell one of these at a reasonable price? Not for the sake of making a profit, but rather to help spread the joy of Star Wars collecting to a fellow fan? I know this is a longshot, but... help me Paul, you are my only hope! (Rob R.)

A: Rob – I truly feel helpless because your plea proves how genuine you are of a collector and the desperation comes through loud and clear in your email to me. I wholly empathize with you. The truth is, these things have sold out almost everywhere. And eBay is the last place you'd probably want to plop down your dollars for one due to the extravagant prices you're noting. I don't think they're available any more at reasonable prices, but I will reach out to a good friend of mine in England who had a supply at one time.

That being said, if anyone reading can help out a fellow collector and his son acquire this piece, please connect through our comments. Or email me and I will let Rob know. Thank you!
