It Has Gone From Bad To Worse.... See The Latest Walmart Mod.... You Will Cry

I was going to use a quote from Spaceballs in the title, but I decided against it in fear of Chuck firing me. (Use your movie trivia bank here.) You saw our previous report directing you to Hasbro.com and the unbelievable focus they're giving Fighter Pods. And now our readers are providing proof after proof that the Star Wars line has gone to the Fighter Pods. This is devastating news folks. It will only get worse from here. You know, my buddy Dan Curto hinted around at this very thing and I didn't want to believe it (that there would be a shift away from action figures). But it looks like basic figures in general are taking a back seat on store shelves. Click through to see the latest Walmart Plan-O-Gram courtesy of JTA reader Flamingtoilet. We should probably call it a No-Plan-O-Gram instead.

I assume this is something everyone will be interested in. My local Walmart (Benbrook, TX) looks like it's getting ready for the big reset as well, and they had the plan-o-grams (or whatever you call them) taped onto the displays. It seems like action figures overall are taking a back seat to roleplay toys and ESPECIALLY those blasted Fighter Pods. Those look like they're going to get a MAJOR push this fall (as it would appear from the Hasbro website!), with a LOT of shelf space allotted to them compared to figures.

For the record, there was still VERY little on clearance. Unless of course you needed a Malevolence Rising pack (marked down to ONLY $17.88!) or a Shadows Obi-Wan or Ki-Adi Mundi ($7.88!) Seriously, there was a whole display devoted to just those. It was really kind of depressing.

Love and Kisses,
Flamingtoilet
