Research Droids Reviews: July 18, 2012 – July 24, 2012

Trade Federation MTT (Multi Troop Transport) - SW [TPM 3D] - Vehicles
It’s quite possible that Star Wars collectors have been spoiled in the past with Hasbro’s large-scaled vehicles. Let’s face it. After 2008’s TLC Millennium Falcon and 2010’s SW [SOTDS] Imperial AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport), there is little that can truly wow us at this point, save for the much needed updates to the Original Trilogy vehicles (and playsets) we desperately want to see new and improved but Hasbro always seems to find an excuse not to do.... right now.... Clone Commander [Green] - ROTS - Basic (III 33)
Obviously 2005 brought us the final Star Wars film, Revenge Of The Sith, but it also infected many Star Wars collectors with a clone obsession virus. Even with seemingly advanced notice, Hasbro just wasn’t prepared for how many clones were needed for the basic figure line to satiate the demand.... (read the full review)

Clone Pilot [Shadow] - ROTS - Basic (III 34)
Fact: If there is a regular clone made, you can bet that there’ll be a “shadow” version of it at some point in the Star Wars toy line. Clone Trooper - ROTS - Basic (III 6)
One of the most erroneous assertions made in the collecting part of the Star Wars universe is that the all-white phase II Clone Trooper characters didn’t make an appearance in Episode III. This is indeed very incorrect.... (read the full review)

Darth Vader - ROTS - Basic (III 11)
You’re all well aware of our chagrin for action features in our action figures. And we’re well aware of yours. So will you forgive us if we give an remotely positive review to a figure that does contain them? We’re talking about the very first Darth Vader figure (the black iron lung version) in the Revenge Of The Sith line.... (read the full review)

General Grievous - ROTS - Basic (III 9)
Every new villain introduced in a Star Wars film always is the center of attention for Hasbro, and it seems to be especially true for those characters from the Prequel Trilogy. Darth Maul and to a lesser extent Count Dooku saw plenty of action figure incarnations of their characters so that demand could be meant during such a huge multimedia event as a new Star Wars film....
