Get To Know The Characters Of Rogue One

As part of their exclusive look into Rogue One, Entertainment Weekly has revealed the names and descriptions of the major Rogue One characters. The most interesting news is regarding the character played by Oscar winner Forest Whitaker. Apparently, long time fans will immediately recognize the character when his name is revealed later today. The identity of Oscar winner Forest Whitaker's mysterious Rogue One character has been revealed. Whitaker will play freedom fighter Saw Gerrera. Saw Gerrera will be familiar to fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Gerrera was introduced in a season five story arc that explored the origins of the rebellion. Gerrera will be the the first Clone Wars character to make the jump to live action. While the name Saw Gerrera won't mean anything to a lot the audience for Rogue One, it's a pleasant surprise for fans of The Clone Wars.
