Q and A of the Day: Day 37

Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 37.

Q: Hello JediTempleArchives. I need your help for collecting new Stormtroopers. [Is] there any information available about the Saga Legends Stormtrooper 2010? Is it a repack or a new figure? Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany. (Ricardo)

A: Hello Ricardo. The figure you're asking about was part of the 2011 Star Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] Saga Legends assortment. It is essentially a straight repack of 2009's LC Stormtrooper (BD46) figure, but with slightly tightened up paint operations (meaning the paint job on this figure is better than the Legacy Collection figure). What you may also not know if that the sculpt of this figure is a "repaint" of 2006's TSC Shadow Trooper exclusive figure, not the 2004 VOTC Stormtrooper figure. This is proven by the 2005 date stamp on the inside of the right thigh. Although it isn't the 2004 VOTC Stormtrooper figure, I believe those sculpts are identical otherwise. If you have either the 2004 VOTC Stormtrooper figure or the 2009 LC Stormtrooper (BD46) figure, you have this one. I personally loathe this figure. He has the worst legs imaginable. However, if Hasbro gave this sculpt update ball-jointed hips and a little more tweaking for better arm movement, it would possibly bet the best Stormtrooper figure we would ever receive, aside from an all-new sculpt (with a non-removable helmet of course).
