Make Your SCUBA Ahsoka Super-Articulated!

Posted by Paul | January 27, 2013 at 07:44 PM ET

Anyone who has a heart knows what a travesty the SCUBAHSOKA figure turned out to be for collectors. (We don't care if it was a kids' toy – we wanted a decently articulated version of this awesome character.) JTA moderator Sjefke couldn't take it anymore and customized his own. Click through to see how he did it! The final result is brilliant! Hasbro, if you're watching, please take some notes!

You know I appreciate a toy with excellent articulation. Well, I can not abide a scuba figure with static ankles (a.k.a. nankles). Every year I try to get Geekette [his daughter] suitable female Star Wars characters, which are few and far between. She asked me for a scuba Ahsoka figure, when she saw the TCW Mon Calamari episode 2 years ago. I promised her I would if Hasbro made the toy. Well, they did, but I know what she would say if she got a figure with nankles, and it would not be kind.

Forgive me for the rushed pics. I only had a couple of days to do this upgrade. I took the legs of Space Ahsoka and removed them with the boil and pop method. I did the same with the scuba Ahsoka figure's legs. I molded the scuba leggings and then applied them to the space Ahsoka legs. Then I repainted, reattached the legs, and resealed the package. Now for the hard part; wrapping.

Now this is a toy. Hasbro, you've been served!

Special thanks to Seclorus for getting this to me in time to make the necessary improvements. We Daddy buyers turned collectors with two kids and a disapproving wife need to stick together. ;)
