An In-Depth Look At The MTT Out Of The Box!

Posted by Paul | June 11, 2012 at 08:28 AM ET

OK, here we go! The teases are over! We have got a great "opened box" look for you of the MTT as well as great commentary on the details of this vehicle! JTA reader Manny M. comes through big time for us so we can share the contents of the box with you! Click through for a complete report!

Hi Paul,

I picked up my MTT already. Here are some photos.

First up, the long package. Its actually narrower than the ATTE but longer than a BAT-AT.

Separated the top from the bottom : behold a shiny MTT reminiscent of the vintage sandcrawler that was clean and without weathering.

The battledroids: 16 pcs. stationary ones without backpacks and 4 "pilot battle droids" with backpacks. The other 4 stationary droids are with Obi-Wan in the box window. Speaking about Obi-Wan, he is the Ep.1 version Obi-Wan without the soft goods tunic from 1999 replaced with plastic. His head still comes with the soft braid. He has no wrist articulation. The bottom of the feet has the 1999 stamp on it.

The 4 battle droids are newly made. The backpacks are molded together to the body. These droids only have 5 points of articulation, just like a potf2 figure would have. The 20 other battle droids all have molded bases (makes it easy to stand) bear 2011 LFL stamp markings. The biggest surprise for me is that they have only 1 point of articulation LOL. Only the right arm can move. The left hand is molded to the hip.

The repulsor lift gets permanently attached once inserted to the side of the vehicle. The other 2 parts are the engine cover and the pod for the front guns came in a vinyl bag with a pair of missiles for the top hatch gun.

This set "works with Movie Heroes and Clone Wars figures". Probably with the type of figures inside they would be ashamed to "work" with The Vintage Collection line. LOL

The MTT is a fine huge vehicle worth having to beef up any separatist fan's army collection. While the packaged figures that come with it may not be that pleasing, it wouldn't stop us from bringing out the better versions that we have and still enjoy this.

Regards
Manny
