Research Droids Reviews: April 11, 2012 – April 17, 2012

C-3PO - ROTS - Basic (III 18)
Revenge Of The Sith originally intended to show Star Wars enthusiasts how C-3PO came to receive his golden armor. Due to time constraints of the film, that part of the storyline was abandoned. While it would have been an incredible progression of events in Episode III to see this actually happen onscreen, thankfully Star Wars fans could still witness the explanation of how this came to be for C-3PO courtesy of Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars micro-series.... Padmé - ROTS - Basic (III 19)
Anakin Skywalker broke her heart. And it was her broken heart that brought about her death. But before Padmé died, she gave birth to two infants that would become two of the galaxy’s most influential heroes. Padmé Amidala has been forever immortalized in her Mustafar outfit and pregnant. Hasbro did a very good job on the costuming and hear head sculpt and the final figure looks very good.... (read the full review)

Agen Kolar - ROTS - Basic (III 20)
If we dared criticized the Original Trilogy, we would have to say that there wasn’t ample opportunity to present both good and bad characters of the same species. For example, there wasn’t a good Trandoshan. There was Bossk who was after the Rebel heroes. Then there was Ponda Baba (Walrus Man). We had no idea that the Aqualish, Separatist or not, served in office to represent the greater good.... (read the full review)

Kit Fisto - ROTS - Basic (III 22)
Poor Kit Fisto! On paper this Revenge Of The Sith action figure should have turned out to be one of Hasbro’s finest creations. But in practicality, it’s sadly just not going to be a figure that will stand the test of time. A figure that excels in superb sculpting and proportions should turn out fantastic as a production figure, shouldn’t it? But this fantastic sculpt with even better articulation fails mostly because of its paint job.... (read the full review)

Plo Koon - ROTS - Basic (III 16)
It seems that Hasbro was making things right to collectors when they designed Jedi for the Revenge Of The Sith line. It is our belief that Hasbro went back to the reference materials of the Attack Of The Clones film and did their best to give us significantly improved versions of the Jedi they gave us in the 2002-2004 Star Wars “Saga” line.... Grievous's Bodyguard - ROTS - Basic (III 8)
Every Prequel Trilogy Star Wars film has brought us one new and exciting droid after another. And by new we really mean unique to that film because the Battle Droids from Episode I were carried forward to Episode II and both the Battle Droids and Super Battle Droids were carried forward to Episode III. Episode For Episode III, perhaps the neatest and most interesting droid was designed for this film.... (read the full review)

Grievous' Bodyguard - ROTS - Basic (III 60)
You already know our propensity for loving the so-called “Repack & Repaint” waves of action figures Hasbro includes in applicable line looks where a placeholder is needed for delayed wave of figures or just to pad the end of a line look while they get ready for the next one. Whatever the reasons and whatever the method, these types of “special waves” offer collectors a chance to get figures they normally wouldn’t because of their obscurity in the films....
