Make Your New TVC Darth Maul Look Even Better!

Posted by Paul | January 29, 2012 at 10:24 AM ET

Everyone knows how incredible the new The Vintage Collection Darth Maul figure is. But everyone also knows that the hood he comes with leaves a lot to be desired. JTA reader James B. has an awesome solution for this figure to make it look incredibly better. See what he has to say!

James writes:

Hey Paul,

Great review on the VC Darth Maul. I agree it's a great figure. I just can't take that plastic hood. Here's an idea I had for a fix. I had the Sith Speeder Maul from 1999 on the shelf and I thought I would swap out the cloaks. I always liked the look of that hood, so I though I'd give it a try. Here are the results. What do you think? That's the '99 cloak under the new '12 cloak...

A little bulky, but the real cloak in the film was a little bulky anyway. Thanks for taking a look.

James B.

That actually looks fantastic. Keep in mind that you'll have to use the 1999 version of the Deluxe figure. The fabric was much nicer as the version today is much too shiny by comparison.
