Research Droids Reviews: November 9, 2011 – November 15, 2011

Anakin Skywalker/Assassin Droid - TAC - Comic Packs (No. 11)
The Clone Wars battles that were a subset of the Star Wars: Republic comic series contained some of the most virulent battles in recent memory. And for battles that are this violent, portentous and noxious, a new type of Separatist Droid needed to be developed to spell certain doom for the Republic heroes.... (read the full review)

Luke Skywalker/R2-D2 - TAC - Comic Packs (No. 06)
By the time Hasbro knocked out the first three Comic Packs based on Marvels’ interpretation of Star Wars, collectors didn’t feel secure with any future ones based on this source. Hasbro for the most part chose figures with inferior articulation and many still couldn’t figure out why they brought over the blue shadowing from the comic inks to the action figures.... Obi-Wan Kenobi/ARC Trooper - TAC - Comic Packs (No. 07)
Fans knew Hasbro was really stepping up to the plate by the time the second wave of Comic Packs from the 30 (77-07) line began hitting retail. If you’ve been collecting since the neo-classic era, you well aware of the fact that Hasbro is making the absolute best action figures of their long and illustrious career for about the last half decade, give or take. But there are some action figures that date back further that have the inability to age.... (read the full review)

A'Sharad Hett/Dark Woman - TAC - Comic Packs (No. 08)
When you’re a fan of the Expanded Universe, the longer you dwell in it, the more accustom you become to the great stories they are. So many of the Star Wars characters we have seen in the films are directly related to characters in the Expanded Universe.... (read the full review)

Luke Skywalker/Mara Jade - TAC - Comic Packs (No. 10)
After Return Of The Jedi hit theaters in 1983, it was unknown at the time whether or not fans would be treated to the Sequel Trilogy which supposedly comprised Episode VII, VIII and IX. Nearly thirty years later, we all now know that these “final” films aren’t coming to pass. Thankfully the Expanded Universe has stepped up to the plate to give us some great stories....
