Hasbro's Questions & Answers #92

What about those remaining unreleased running changes that never made it out? Find out this and more in this round of Hasbro's Q&A!

Hasbro's Q&A

Don't forget, you can submit questions in our forums and we'll try to get as many as possible submitted to Hasbro. We can send only three questions per week, so make sure they are good ones! Now, on to this weeks Questions and Answers directly from Hasbro.

You can also check out our Q&A Round-up, as well as our exclusive Headline Report over in our forums!

Q. In one of the most recent Q&A sessions, one site asked about Captain Fordo and many of us interpreted your answer to mean the phase II version seen in Volume 2 of Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars (and that the figure would ultimately appear in The Vintage Collection at some point). But now we’re second-guessing ourselves because a generic phase I Captain Fordo-looking figure was just released in the ARC Troopers Battle Packs set in The Clone Wars line (animated style). Can you please confirm this once and for all for us? Are you releasing a realistic styled “Captain Fordo” (that will not be named Captain Fordo), or is The Clone Wars Battle Packs version it?

A. Yes, we are releasing a realistically-styled figure in the Vintage Collection at the end of next Spring. Per Lucasfilm direction, it will be called "ARC Trooper Commander" instead of "Captain Fordo," but will be about Captain Fordo on the back.

Q. The Defense Of Hoth set has finally been released and elation is felt by all. Thank you so much for finally releasing that amazing Hoth Rebel Trooper variant. He is better than we ever expected. We hope you utilize this body sculpt shortly and get additional Hoth rebel troopers out to us in one way or another! That being said, can you give us any update on the Utai that was briefly shown at Comic-Con then just disappeared as well as Kneesa from the originally planned Wicket two-pack, and finally Ratts Tyrell that was supposed to be part of the Clegg Holdfast two-pack? Along the same lines, do you have any plans to give us another (or multiple) Cloud City Wing Guard? It would be ideal to get the Causcasian/Latino/Asian (we’re not sure how to refer to him anymore) version out from the vintage era on your spectacular The Vintage Collection line look (as well as many other flavors). Please keep the variants coming (in other formats which seem to be working well at this point)! We hope you know how much these variations mean to us. And while we know you have stopped including them as part of the basic figure line, we want to encourage you to continue to bring them to us in other ways.

A. We're glad that we were finally able to bring out the alternate Rebel Trooper….and equally glad that collectors are responding to these great Hoth sets.  Their success certainly tees up the opportunity for more sets like it in the future.  As for other "lost figures," we have a mixed bag of news.  The Utai still has not found a home, Knessa has not found a home, and Ratts Tyrell we can confirm *will* be coming out with the movie line coming in '12.  We do not have a Bespin Wing Guard set up for Vinatge yet, but we agree that the version you suggest would be an excellent version for the line.

Check back next time and we'll post the next round of Questions (and answers) as soon as Hasbro offers them.
