Hasbro's Questions & Answers #87

Posted by Chuck | June 02, 2010 at 02:59 PM ET

We've got our latest answers from Hasbro, including what the first 19 figures released in the Shadow of the Dark Side Clone Wars line will be! Check out all the details!

Hasbro's Q&A

Don't forget, you can submit questions in our forums and we'll try to get as many as possible submitted to Hasbro. We can send only three questions per week, so make sure they are good ones! Now, on to this weeks Questions and Answers directly from Hasbro.

You can also check out our Q&A Round-up, as well as our exclusive Headline Report over in our forums!

Q. We are barely able to contain our excitement for The Vintage Collection. Many of us think it is the only way Star Wars figures should be released! You’ve answered a lot of questions already on this line, but some things remain unclear. What logo will you be using for figures based from The Phantom Menace? Will it say Episode I with The Phantom Menace under it or will you be “creating” a new logo that just says The Phantom Menace? Also, will all the figures be tweaked (even in the slightest) to make them unique to The Vintage Collection line? Or will there be straight repacks too?

A. We will be putting all of the Prequel Trilogy movie logos in a Star Wars "holding shape" on the front of each card. The same will hold for the Expanded Universe when EU characters begin to appear late next Fall. There will be straight repacks in the Vintage Collection. If there is a way to make a figure substantially new, we will pursue it, but if it turns out that only minor upgrades in deco or sculpt are the only improvements we feel we can make, then we'd rather not do that and just do a straight repack. We don't want the completist collector to feel compelled to buy a figure when the differences are very slight.

Q. Thus far Hasbro has been very forthcoming with the figure numbering for both the Vintage Collection as well as the Saga Legends basic figure lines.  But what about the very popular Clone Wars line?  Can we get an accounting of the figure numbering for the Clone Wars basic figure line in the new Shadow of the Dark Side packaging?  And with that, is it possible to see which figures will be carried forward from the previous Clone Wars basic figure lines?

A. See attached lineup (below) for Clone Wars waves 1 and 1.5 coming this August/Sept. The majority of these characters, aside from Pre Vizsla, the Mandalorian Guard, and Aurra Sing, are popular carryforwards from the previous line. There will be more all-new characters later in the year but we have not announced those yet; look for more info at Comic Con and CV.
