Memo To Hasbro: Better Ideas For Battle Packs #1

Posted by Paul | May 30, 2010 at 09:31 PM ET

You've read our rant about the pitiful new Hoth Assault Battle Packs set coming from Hasbro this August. But instead of just whining about it, we thought we could come up with a suggestion or two ourselves and maybe inspire Hasbro? Doubtful, but we'll try anyhow. We have ideas for about four which we'll share with you over time. But click through to read our BIG IDEA #1.

Dear Hasbro,

Please accept this idea for a Battle Packs set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back in style:

How about a set called Hoth Tactical Planning?

Toryn Farr - We have a beautiful new Leia (Hoth Gear) figure coming in August in The Vintage Collection, how about doing a little bit of your magical retooling and make a new portrait, repaint it and call it Toryn Farr?

R3-Y2 - We first got this figure in the Entertainment Earth exclusive Astromech Droids sets, but it utilized the terrible R3-T7 mold from the Power Of The Jedi line. How about busting out those Droid Factory parts (that we already miss, Hasbro) and repaint the R3-A2 mold and give us a splendid version of R3-Y2? Please? Pretty please?

General Rieekan - Yes, yes, yes. We have gotten him twice so far. But we want that figure's great head sculpt on a more articulated body. And also include the tactical screen inside this set too! It is such a great likeness but it needs to be on a better body!

Generic Hoth Rebel Technician - What's the point in planning your defense or offense if you don't have the hired help to ensure things don't go awry? Hasbro, please just include one brand new sculpt in this set and we'll forgive another set like Jedi Showdown which is nothing but repacks. We lie. Please don't ever do that again!
